This is an idea I have for a Comet based deck which I am greatly looking forward to testing when Breaker Bay hits the shelves. I played the Chaos Theory Oracle May deck for a while when it was popular and had great fun with it, but eventually gave it up because I found the tempo hit from the occasional trashes of breakers and the inability to play much supporting hardware or resources to be too much of a limitation.
This deck idea takes the strong event based economy of Oracle May deck and uses Comet to burst out lots of events to gain money, draw aggressively and make multi-access runs. The possibility of playing Test Run/Scavenge and Indexing/Makers Eye for 1 click allows you to play fast and pressure hard. I loved the doubles/Power Nap burst economy from the OM deck and would love to try it here, with Game Day being the perfect Shaper double to replace the pretty awful Eureka!
Rachel Beckman can help you play even faster and offset the extra click cost of some of the doubles. SOTs mean you can nearly always play the event you need when you need it. The breakers are standard high efficiency breakers that should be able to get you in pretty much anywhere, powered by a fast burst economy. Magnum Opus I think will be a great addition to take advantage of any leftover clicks during a turn; with Rachel Beckman out you should be able to click it at least once a turn or more!
Thought I'd throw it up here anyway to see if anyone has any suggestions! :)

Yeah I had thought of that, but that seems like a lot of extra set up and card slots that I'm not sure is necessary. When I played the old doubles CT OM deck I never found the doubles to be a tempo hit, and Comet and Beckmann make the clicks more efficient as it is. Playing 5 doubles a turn sounds fun but is also probably unneccessary :P I do like the beach party/game day/adjusted chronotype combo though, might try it out of Hayley instead because she'd allow you to set it all up faster! |
It seems to me that with the amount of doubles you're running, it might be worthwhile to dump Rachel & the Same Old Things in favor of Starlight Crusade Funding, and maybe making room for an Adjusted Chronotype, Gene Conditioning Shoppe, and Beach Party - that way, you've got a 10-card hand size, and with Comet, can play up to 5 doubles per turn. It's a little ridiculous...but it should be fun.
