This is the Sports deck that Seattle folks podoboyz99, cybershark, and I took to Magnum Opus. It was clearly not the best deck, given the response while on stream and in Slack. Indeed, a casual search on Slack just now showed that a UK opponent wanted to troll one of us by reading the flavor text on Cybernetics mid-round, lol. I was just winning more with this than CTM (which was my other choice) so I went with it. This went 5-2 for me but my SOS was not great having been swept by WhiteBlade round 1. My Runner was bad all day.
My rationale for building this deck was that I thought the best Runners would be, in order: Hayley, Val, some MaxX, and maybe Smoke. I found CTM hard to beat good Hayleys with, probably due to operator error. I cut Currents for Ark/CVS to deal with Hayley, otherwise play 2 Scarcity or whatever. CVS helped me dunk a Freedom, too. Field Tests are great fun.
Regarding Netrunner:
I have been playing since Core set came out in 2012-- I picked it up at the early release at PAX while waiting for a friend. The FFG rep demoing the game convinced me to kill myself on an advanced Junebug. What a guy.
I have been to Worlds 4 times (2014, 2015, 2016, 2018). Each year, I have met many fine people at Worlds, even if I'm not especially social, and many of these same people went out of their way to say hi or chat briefly with me this year. I am happy to have groggily boxed alongside my Seattle and Portland friends through many matches for many years, though I expect my competitive Netrunner career is over at this point.
