This Cube is expected to draft with 4 or 6 each time taking 50 cards and making min 30 decks. I've been running 13,13,12,12 packs for the drafting.
Each Corp starts with:
5 Blank 5/3 Agendas
The blanks are there so players can fill out the agenda points if they don't some how have enough.
I looked at other cubes and while I liked them, they didn't fit what I needed so I borrowed for stuff I liked and built this.
I found two cubes I leaned on for inspiration:
bblum's 300 cube - I wanted to have a larger card base and while this has a lot of cards I don't have, it did offer a good context for number of cards per type in a 300 card cube and showed a little bit of what from the "older stuff" was still considered important. https://netrunnerdb.com/en/decklist/12553/bblum-s-corp-cube-300-card-version
StimHack Double Time Cube - StimHack actually has a Double Time cube, perfect right? Its 248, I wanted to play with the six people I thought I could get to play, that limits to 40 card pools, moving to 300 gives 50 and a lot of room for variance if we're at 4. https://netrunnerdb.com/en/decklist/4252/stimhack-draft-cube-corp-double-time-edition-v-1-1
Another VERY large inspiration was Xenasis's design and maintenance article on StimHack. I have lots of cubes from lots of CCGs (I was a junky) and I feel the singleton approach is the most fun because every card has that chase rare feel. Giving variety to cards and strategies was something I also felt the StimHack cube didn't do enough. I wanted the larger size to allow our
I started with singles of EVERY card in core, Genesis, Creation and Control, and Spin and removed cards I thought were counter to a draft environment (things that altered costs for agendas, etc.). From there it was a matter of trying to balance econ, ICE and breakers. There will be changes I'm sure.
Story time:
I bought the game when it released and played locally at my shop. but numbers started to dwindle and by the time honor and profit was coming out, my play group had disappeared. Originally, I hadn't even picked up Double Time because I had no one to play with so I picked that up cheap to round out the set (with current prices I wish I had just bought all the way through, se la vie). But getting a cube together sounded great and I can probably talk my play group into a netrunner outing, but that meant finding cubes that fit both what cards I had and the play style I wanted to give. It didn't exist, resulting in this cube.
