Buyback Time v1.3

Krakow Sam 1

It's a goofy Haarpsichord deck where losing agendas just makes you richer in the long run and an unlucky runner can have a score area full of cards but still be on 0 points!

It's not exactly top tier competitive but it is surprisingly decent and most importantly it's almost always a ton of fun.

Strategy will vary depending on matchup but generally early game you want to shore up centrals and/or sneak out key agendas. If you suspect the runner won't run first turn do not be afraid of slamming down a naked astroscript with some trash agendas (award bait, QPM, 15 mins) and scoring, even if your money gets low. Once you have a score lead and a FA option Haarp can stay ahead by sheer brute force.

Early game you'll be poor. Make centrals expensive for the runner but don't worry if they run. Let them take 1-pointers, especially at great cost and try to trick them into News Teams. I only use Stock Buy-Back once the runner has 4+ items in their score area unless very desperate. An unlucky or careless runner can easily be sitting at one point with seven "agendas" stolen, netting you ludicrous amounts of cash from your Buy-Backs, easily enough to shore up your defenses and go quasi-glacier if you need to.

If you establish a score lead, try and score out, if you fall behind early, aim for the kill.

Agendas Don't fear the one pointers! I don't think I need to go into the virtures of the 2/1s, improved tracers can make most of your ice much more taxing so in some matchups it can be worth prioritising. Award Bait is mostly padding and shell game fodder, if you don't have another agenda on the table when they steal it try and dump the counters on ice wall so they're not wasted.

Assets What assets? I made this deck when Whizzard was everywhere and intentionally made sure there was almost nothing trashable. A lack of assets combined with your ID ability makes deep digs on R&D a lot less painful and can actually bite the runner in the ass. News team takes your opponent further from winning while turning on Stock Buy-Back and is really what makes the whole deck work. Try and make sure the runner hits them. Depending on the runner you'll either want to keep them in HQ, lay them on the table or stuff them in archives for best effect. If you have it in your hand aginst an early game temujin then overdraw and toss it. They'll have to take the -1 point in order to keep getting their archives money.

Operations Aside from the lynchpin Stock Buy-Back, lots of flexibility here. You could reconfigure your ice suite for more hard etr and go rigshooter or you can try for the kill. Cheesy 24/7 boom is always a possibility. If you think you can land midseasons reliably in your meta consider psychographics to play the fast advance Beale game.

Ice Taxing tracers and NBN good stuff. The Archer is very much optional but you have a lot of trash 1 pointers so I think it's worth it for surprise factor and can win you the game against runners who are light on recursion. Scoring Improved Tracers is very much worth it and can push a lot of your ICE into nightmarish territory costwise. Bonus challenge: Score an Improved Tracers, pushing your IP blocks out of range of the Atman they just installed.
