Literal Trash (Startup)

play this deck if

  • you enjoy making lots of decisions, and making runners think
  • you enjoy excruciating games of fair netrunner

don't play this deck if

  • you like winning consistently

hadn't played Netrunner in years, but returned a couple weeks ago and have been enjoying the small card pool of Startup. i've been playing many different corp decks, including tempo NEH, rush/rigshooter Ob, and bigunit's PD Skunkworks, all of them very fun in their own right. i wanted to try out Nani Grid, and figured I'd also give RH a shot, mostly due to the 40 decksize.

things i've learned playing this deck

  • you need an overload of card draw and other ways to discard, for Nani and RH to be remotely worthwhile
  • tsarevna is jinteki's best ICE
  • you need more ICE than usual (duh)
  • use Simulation Reset to recycle Operations, and ditch ICE into Archives
  • Nani + ETR's can offer brutal click compression if the runner doesn't respect them
  • the ID generally nets you quite a few free credits per game (10+)

i'd rather not spell out all the nuances of the deck. instead, if it looks intriguing, try it out for yourself. it feels rewarding to play, with lessons learned every game. most games will be incredibly close and thrilling for both players. it has a chance vs. anarchs and criminals, although every win feels incredibly hard fought for. beating shaper seems close to impossible, in my experience.

superiority is mostly 4fun, but it can be a nice score if the runner starts floating tags.
