So, here is my first version of what I hope will evolve into not only a fun Quetzal deck, but one that will reward timely play with satisfying victories.
At first glance, it may look kinda janky. OMG, Brain Chip?! And only 1 of...are you insane?! Well, perhaps...but I have my reasons. As I have plenty of draw and deck-thinning options, I've been able to get the Chip and put it to VERY good use. One particular example would be last night. Sure, it was casual play, but both my deck and the opposing Corp complied with MWL 1.1 and the new errata. It was a Haarp deck featuring typical NBN tricks and some kill cards as well.
I pulled an Exploda fairly early, but wasn't hit with any tags. After landing a 1 pointer soon after, I drew into the Brain Chip and immediately plopped it down. I used my 2nd IHW to draw to max hand size, and it was all downhill from there. Took another Exploda and Medium dug out 2 more 1 ptrs. for the win. I was TA'd + Scorched once with a hand size of 9...IHW gave me some more cards. Later, I got 24/7'd and Scorched again, but being able to keep up in money was key in survival.
You've got the econ, you've got the draw, and you've got the weapons to pressure just about anything. Faust + Quetzal makes facechecking easy, and e3 later on for some card savings once the money is there. I've also been able to Imp some key pieces, and you've got Deja Vu in case Levy gets plucked. Earthrise + Inject hasn't failed me yet as the draw engine; there's also Making an Entrance to thin out the numbers and get what ya need at the time.
I'm sure there's a weakness, and I have no doubt that it comes in the form of HB Glacier and CVS. If anyone can think of things I could add/subtract, I'm all ears!
