Pre-rotation decklist |
This is a PE deck designed to beat Pre-Paid Kate, and Faust Noise and DLR Val in the current meta.
It's the Zaps variety of PE, in reference to WillingDone's video. For those unaware Zaps is a style of PE that isn't based around Flatling the opponent but instead milling the Runner's deck, this is often called a thousand cuts style PE. This deck has some crucial modifications.
The first is the inclusion of program trashing. This deck includes 4 Destroyers, 2 Marcus Batty and an Aggressive Secretary. All of these cards are placed in the deck specifically to destroy a key breaker so the runner is required to dig through their deck for a replacement allowing them to mill themselves faster. Also to allow you windows to score key Agendas.
To get around recursion the deck also includes 3 Chronos Projects as well as 24/7 News Cycle which will be mentioned later. In the ideal situation you destroy a key part of the runners rig, then use Chronos Project to remove it from the game preventing them from being able to access a particular server.
Because it's possible to create a game state where the runner is unable to have access to a breaker of a particular type, the deck does not use Pup, Eli, or Yagura, and instead relies on cheap ETRs like Himitsu-Bako and Quandry.
Corporate Town is for Film Critic but all can also be used to get rid of Kati Jones , Data Leak Reversal, as well as Aesop's pawnshop. It's best used used after you've trashed a key breaker so it will remain around for several turns.
24/7 News Cycle is an incredible one of in the deck. It allows you to score key Agenda's like Philotic Entanglement or Chronos Project early and play them at them at key moments. The ability to Chronos Project out of nowhere against Kate or Maxx is extremely valuable. If the Levy is in archives don't hesitate when using 24/7 to Chronos it out of the game.
Against the Noise and DLR Val variety of decks place an Archer over archives, because this deck uses so many low-cost agendas, as well as Shock! your opponent will have difficulty scoring out without dying (The Archer makes Faust impossible to use without putting the player in Flatline range and D4v1d can only be used once on an Archer)
Against Val a quick Clone Retirement will remove her bad publicity forcing her to deal with your big ice.
Changes depending on your meta.
If criminal/Account Syphon is big in your meta consider exchanging Aggressive Secretary for Sealed Vaults to prevent you from being a source of income for your opponent. Also consider adding Profiteering which is excellent if you have money issues.
If Keyhole/Eater is a big thing include 1-2 Swordsman replacing Grim and a Quandry.
If PE is big in your meta, replace Aggressive Secretary with Shattered Remains to deal with Feedback Filters.
This deck does not use Neural EMP, this is simply because the opponent is rarely in range for when EMP will matter and decks slots. If your meta is small enough I would recommend putting them back in as the important of Neural EMP is the threat of Neutral EMP, once your opponent realizes you aren't packing any it allows them to play more aggressively.
