Osaka Seafood Concern

"Knife goes in, guts come out. That's what Osaka Seafood Concern is all about!"

This deck was 2nd out of 15 in the Winnipeg 2018 Regionals.

The shell is based on one I was given by spags, with several modifications by me, then a new version from him, and then finally back to me making morning-of changes.

Play stuff, make the Runner trash it, tag them, kill them. Easy peasy.

My spin on the original shell is 1x SEA Source, and 2x Crisium Grid. I dropped a Consulting Visit, Mumbad Virtual Tour, and Daily Business Show to make room.

SEA Source lets you surprise the Runner when they have just slightly less money than you, and you have good generation on the board with SEA Source, Closed Accounts, HHN. It also lets you throw SEA Source into EoI to pull a surprise win.

Crisium Grid is in there because DDM Hayley has problems early spending an extra five dollars and wasting a DDM. It keeps you from getting surprise blowouts off R&D runs. Also, Diversion of Funds means you actually have to give a crap about HQ again.

spags' list he gave me originally had High-Profile Target, but I went with Boom! for the extra 2 influence so I could slot the Crisium Grids.

Economic Warfare, Economic Warfare, Hard-Hitting News is one of the dirtiest turns in the game.

The big lessons I've learned playing this a bunch (I've been on this shell for a couple months now) is:

1.) Exploda and SSL are there to get stolen and fund punishing the Runner.

These Agendas are there just to get you paid so you can put the hurt on the Runner. Don't worry about losing them early, especially if it means you can afford to EoI something for them.

2.) Don't rez everything. Don't even rez that much.

It sure feels great looking at four cards and making ten credits a turn. But then the Runner knows everything you put facedown has a higher and higher chance of being an Agenda.

Rez a Museum, a PAD and CBG, leave a Rashida for when you need a surprise cash boost. Make them check your remotes so you can punish them.

3.) Everything behind a Data Raven remote must be QPM.

Unless they've read your decklist, they probably don't think you're on a single QPM. It's weird. So just go ahead and straight install that Raven and something behind it. Chances are they'll leave it alone because "I'm not giving you a point."

Then you pop your Rashida or score an ARES or Beale.

4.) People don't run more than one copy of Misdirection.

So Consulting Visit into Best Defense is great.

How's this vs Freedom?

If you can actually get ARES down I find Freedom decks are kind of poor. Don't purge so Acacia can't fire and he can't afford tags.

This is theory though because I haven't gotten to play a Freedom with this yet.
