Knight's Tour v1.0

paddosan 3408

While writing an article about Knight for Netrunner Italia, I obviously pondered about this new AI Icebreaker quite a lot, and came up with the thought that Cäissa programs might actually work better in Shapers, than in Anarchs.

Why is that?

Due to the no-Click actions madness introduced with Creation and Control. Imagine using Self-modifying Code to search a Cäissa during a Run, while you have Deep Red installed. Or recovering one from the Heap with Clone-Chip mid-run.

Search, install and move. All at once, no need for Clicks.

This deck is obviously in an early-alpha stage as it is, but I think there's a huge potential here. The idea behind the single R&D / HQ Interface and Record Reconstructor is to raise the pressure bar on the central servers.

Economy is Kate + Modded + low costs + Professional Contacts efficiency + ... you get the picture.

Public Sympathy because I love that card, but you might wanna swap it for a couple Plascrete, for example.

Oh and of course a single Mimic for Swordsman.

I like it, It'll definitely keep the corp on its toes.

Thanks, yeah it should provide a certain agility in the approach to the servers.

Bishop could be interesting as well, but Rook proved to be definitely much more problematic in my tests with other decks.

Argh, thought I could make this deck with the second data pack arriving here tomorrow, but need to wait until Mala Tempora :(

Yeah, it's an experimental idea, posted to gather comments and suggestions. Mala Tempora should be out on December 13th, though, according to FFG Upcoming page on their website!

Are you sure you're not misinterpreting deep reds effect? You can only install caissa programs to the desired ice, not move them after the original install, without spending clicks. As long as you understand that, deck looks decent. Just hope you have enough search going on to fetch that 1 mimic.

Deep Red text seems pretty straightforward to me, honestly. Since it says "whenever you install" it's fairly obvious you cannot use it to freely move a Cäissa around in the following turns as well. But you can use Self-modifying Code to look at your Stack for a Cäissa and install it, then use Deep Red to freely move the one you just installed. Meaning you can do this kind of shenanigans mid-run.

Sure you could do the same in an Anarch Cäissa-focused deck, by splashing some Self-modifying Code and Clone Chip, but I think Shapers have more aces up their sleeves.

Mimic is only really needed against one ICE, and there are 4 tutors in the deck, but it also makes 14 pieces of ICE (including the new Muckraker) very cheap, so it could be a good idea to get it as soon as you draw a tutor. Professional Contacts should make drawing way more attractive anyway, so I doubt you'll have problems getting it, even if it's in one copy only (due to lack of influence).
