I based this deck off the one they have in the article about Reaver. It has gone through many changes since I first built the deck. The tournament was 7 people and I ran with Apex and CI. First round, I played against Wizzard and Weyland 1. Second round, I played against CT and Building a Better Tomorrow. Last round, I played against Andromeda and RP bioethics. I only lost my game against RP bioethics.
This Apex deck has been very fun to run and has been quite effective. Basically, get Chopbot 3000 and Reaver going, then run. Mid to late game, fire an Apocalypse to reset the board, then go again. Because of how aggressively I run, I have needed to have two Levy. Peace in Our Time and Quality Time have been incredibly helpful in setting up, prepping for fortified server runs, and for getting a foothold early game.

F3 and DNA tracker are actually pretty easy to get through. You don't even have to break DNA Tracker, just let the subs fire. You lose 6 credits and burn 3 cards with Heartbeat, in all a decent trade considering what is available to Apex. F3 is a bit trickier, but as Apex, you again get to ignore the first two subs as you can just choose to trash an installed card which Apex has plenty of. For a while I ran Black Orchestra and 3 Apocalypse instead of 3 peace in our time and 3 quality time, but paying 6 to break 2 subs on Fairchild or 2 subs on DNA was back breaking. Additionally, I found that in the long run I used Black Orchestra the least of my breakers. If your meta uses a lot of Turing, then switch out MKUltra for Orchestra and you should be ok. |

How did/do you like Peace in Our Time vs say Day Job? Since it has the same influence cost? |

Peace in Out Time doesn't cost me a whole turn to get 10 credits. I can use it and then spend 3 clicks on other things. In the tournament against Weyland 1 my opponent used Midseason on me with a trace 14. I spent all nine of my credits to only get 5 tags. On my turn I used chopbot to remove a tag and give me a credit (I didn't have reaver installed unfortunately). My first click I used Peace to get 10 credits then broke 3 tags. With Day Job my opponent could have had one or two turn available to play Boom! on me and force me to trash cards to save myself with heartbeat which would have set me back more. As for the 5 credits to the corp, I have found that this deck generally doesn't care as much about the corp having money. |
Congrats! I'm trying to build up the courage to bring a mini-faction to a tournament. :-)
Having not played Apex much, I'm not sure how to best handle the common beefy code gates. Any tips on F3/DNA? Seems like they would have a brutal cost for both Faust and Prey.
