Deck valid after Sixth Rotation |
I'm going to the CBI woohoo.
This deck earned me 4th place at the Saturday AMT, then 10th place at the London CO the following day. Over the two days I went 3-0 then 2-2 with this deck. One of those losses was because I opened with Rashida behind Lycian, and quickly learned that Lycian is the worst card I've ever rezzed in Netrunner. So cut that for a Magnet or something. Honestly I would've just removed it and played 48 if that was allowed. I did not rez it a second time and only installed it as a blank ice for Flop the rest of the day. Total garbage. My other loss was a game where I drew 18 points, 3 assets, and ice, so we can write that one off.
This was paired with an Arissana deck that had 2 losses and 1 draw at the AMT; 1 win, 3 losses at the CO.
The deck feels really, really good. It's exceptionally fun and engaging, the decisions you make matter, and you have opportunities to make economically advantageous and resource taxing plays, as well as throwing in a few bluffs here and there when you're flooded or whatever. You have access to 7 cards that can never advance, and Architect Deployment Test is both exciting and powerful. Revealing a game winning agenda as you install it that you know they can't steal is a lot of fun.
Active Policing is a difficult card to evaluate. I feel like your clicks are exceptionally valuable, and between its Gray Ops clause and being Terminal, you can't really take as full advantage of it as I think I would like. However, there are theoretical turns in the late game where you install an Ikawah, advance it or maybe do something else, then play this. They have to run click 1 (with the exception of things like Sable getting the free central run click, Pichação, and imp) and it just gives you a way to jump from 4 to 7 out of absolutely nowhere. However, this did not come up for me at all. I have never actually done this in all my games at the events and beforehand. I basically just want to cut this for more money. Third Working Prototype, for sure. Perhaps a cheeky MCA Policy?
The ice needs cleaning up a little overall. Lycian as discussed, but also the numbers just feel off. Lots of 2-ofs that I'm unhappy about, and I think an Ansel would be nice to have access to, but there's already a lot of expensive ice here. MIC caught one click over both events. I'm also afraid increasing the number of 6c ice against Turbine/Takobi and Crew decks. Lotus Field moment? 👀
Oh, also, 3 Mavirus might be too many. It was almost certainly very annoying for the two Freedom players on Sunday, but also one of them beat me anyway, so whatever.
Overall, I want a couple more assets, a little more money, and a slightly more consistent set of ice, but the deck seems very strong. I have yet to get mulched, though.
