Building a spiky world (Single revised core, R&R, Sovereign

GooberMan 128

This deck was constructed for a friend who only decided a couple of days ago to get in to Netrunner, and thus I've constructed some decks with what's at hand (Single revised core, R&R, Sovereign Sight). Published for their benefit.

Weyland is a bit of an odball. They have powerful cards... but in the full cardpool, anything they can do other corps can do better. The most notable exception to this idea is the Rigshooter archetype enabled by the Skorpios identity.

The core of Weyland, however, is retribution. Or, basically, they're the "COME AT ME BRO" of corps. And they don't care how shady they have to be to get at the runner. Murder? Eh, whatevs, it's just business.

This is a spiky deck. There's a few ways you can kill the runner here.

The main one does kinda require having two copies of Punitive Counterstrike in hand. A second core would bolster this strategy significantly. But either way. The idea is that you get more money than the runner, and you put a three-pointer agenda intentionally in archives. Yes, you want them to steal it. Make it tastier and put a one-pointer in there too. Then, next turn, play two copies of Punitive Counterstrike and enjoy the win.

There's a few other things that can get you the kill too.

Gene Splicer can cause damage, or be used to fuel an Archer rez. Either way, bait the runner and if they access and trash - give them a Wake Up Call and create yourself a scoring window if it's too difficult to get the kill.

Get those Project Atlas over-advanced counters, since they will also get you the win. Need two copies of Punitive but only have one in hand? Good thing you can search for the second one thanks to an Atlas counter. One Punitive in hand but one in archives? Use the Atlas counter to fetch that Archived Memories, pull Punitive from the bin, and bam. Runner be ded.

Urban Renewal is a "must trash" asset - especially if you've got a Broad Daylight scored. The runner will either run for it or have time to post a goodbye message to Facebook.

To do anything though, you need to have money. And that's where the corp's ID ability comes in. You have 11 cards that will trigger it. And, even better, the more of those you play the more you charge Blockchain up. The runner will try to break the subroutines on it just so you don't get more rich. Drag them through Blockchain as much as possible.

A runner can win against this deck by being filthy rich. Don't let them.

There's cards in Kitara and also with a second copy of the core that will also make this deck much stronger. tl;dr - get more cards.
