Badass Sword Chick

Be one with your blade. If anything stands in your way, cut it to pieces.

So this idea isn't originally mine; I first heard about a deck like this a long time ago on a Terminal7 podcast sometime in the Spin Cycle, and the idea seemed really cool.

Fast forward a lot of time and I finally got around to building it. I went into it with only one deckbuilding restriction: the only program in this deck is Gordian Blade. Everything else kinda fell into place from there. The gap in time actually gave it a lot of support.

How to play it: Mulligan and if necessary, power draw for Gordian Blade. Get some kind of economy down (you have lots of it) and try to get as much ice rezzed as safely as possible so that the corp has to keep spending money, and so you have lots of options when you eventually Escher. Whatever you can't break, tinker it and cut it in half with your spoon. Whatever you can't kill, move it away with Escher. Eventually you want an interface or two down so you can make gigantic R+D runs with Maker's Eye, but you can also camp remotes too if they're not playing the fast advance game. SoT can be used on basically anything here; Tinkering, Maker's Eye and Spooned are all great targets.

To field some of the early questions:

No paintbrush. No parasites. See deckbuilding restriction. I've considered 1x Lady for Wraparound because having a dog companion still fits the theme, but that's as far as I'll go. Study Guide might be cool, but not very thematic.

Yes, Wraparound sucks, but it's not hopeless. You have money. Kill it with Spooned if you can.

Your best solution vs Architect is probably Tinkering or Escher, but I haven't come across one yet.

Yes, this deck is janky as heck, but it can win vs decent players. No, I would never take this to a tournament. But man, is it a lot of fun to play.

Awesome theme, and looks both fun and playable.

Maybe 1x Inti would be good to manage Wraparound?

I also think you should have made 'Be One With Your Blade' the deckname, it's an awesome line :)

Thanks a lot!

Inti would almost certainly make this deck better, but I'm still trying to see if I can build within the "no other programs" restriction. Something that could break Architect reliably would probably be good, too (Femme or Mimic in place of stimhack would probably be fine, especially with Personal Touch).

One change I am considering is replacing Personal Touch with Lockpick, since it's a bit cheaper and is used in almost exactly the same way.

Sorry I missed the theme reasoning that allowed Lady to be included, yeah it doesn't work for Inti.

Hm I just tried the card draw simulator and sometimes you'll have to draw 20 cards to find your gordian blade.

maybe switch the quality time for test run?

I played a similar deck but with 1 inti and 2 omega.

@mcpba: Strange; I had the same thing happen to me in the simulator yesterday, too. It's weird because the simulator also gives odds at 30% to see one in the starting hand. I've played a bunch of games with it, and it's usually either in my opening hand or a few cards later. Also, the 5-card hand I just gave myself in the simulator has 2. :P I'm not sure how much I trust it sometimes, but whatever. In actual play I've only had to really dig for it once, and that was before I was running quality time.
