Get out of here PPVP, who needs you anymore, Temujin Contract (tcon) is the new money is town! I'm sure lots of people have played around with this card and know how good it is, but I’ll highlight reasons why I put in in Kate.
This is the deck that I have been playing sense Temujin Contract (tcon) came out, and it’s a monster (I think after a week of testing and a GNK it’s still undefeated). Tcon is not only money dense it’s also relatively low on influence, compare the 10 pips needed for the ppvp suite to the 6 needed for tcon. These 4 extra pips allow for the inclusion of both rumor mill and clot, meaning this deck is a remote lock champ. So now that i’ll highlight some of the card choices I‘ll go over each “section” of cards and try to comment of a couple of card choices!
Kate: I choose Kate over Hayley because I value both the link and early game tempo, that $1 a turn adds up with you have to trash a bunch of stuff or keep the remotes honest. Hayley is more of a late game monster, and this deck has plenty of that already,
Events: It’s a pretty basic shaper event suite with a few notable inclusions. Rumor mill: blanks all the cards that stop this deck from scoring, and also blanks Jackson which makes remote tcons less risky and archives open for easy points if they are not ready.. Indexing: with the usual anti shaper strat is to start rushing either points out or econ, often leaving rnd open, indexing is a perfect tool to punish that line of play. Even if there are no points, being able to shape the next couple draws can be huge in the early game. Quality time: some people have been trying out patron because of tcon synergy (myself included) and I have found quality time better in almost every single situation. Tcon decks has some slight issues with single remote glacier decks, so I want a card that helps that match up instead of making it worse. (Also the math is just better on QT, I’m much happier to pay 3 to draw 5 then pay 3 to not draw any).
Hardware: 2 labe for the draw and Mu, nothing crazy there, and RDI for the late game tcon ability to lock down rnd for cheap. You will also notice no meat/net damage hardware cards, and that’s just because it’s a new deck and I think playing without those cards is a better way to test out a deck, but that might change with BOOM!.
Resources: Beth - because of how good she is. Earthrise - nice steady draw that allows to fill up your hand without clicks, so more runs for Tcon and clicks to use Kate's ability each turn. Sac con is 3rd CC for clot, or single sub destroyers. And we all know why Tcon in in here.
Programs: Pretty standard shaper suite at this point. 1 lady 1 inti for both influence reasons and also because it’s pretty much all vanilla out there with paperclip hurting barriers even more. Deus X because I'm scared of dieing and Clot because I think the only way to beat this deck is by FAing from hand (or shaper misplays, the deck is as good as its pilot) . I am currently running double cycy, but I think I'm gonna test out 1 cycy 1 Gordian to allow for easier pressure with tcon on all servers. (also gate over HQ is pretty common v shaper now, which can be super annoying with cycy)
Basic strat: remote lock, don’t give up on the remote game, with rumormill it’s quite hard to keep this deck out of a remote. Try to keep low impact central's runs to a minimum, this however is changed slightly if you have a tcon out where running for single access is less bad. This deck is very flexible and has lots of cool plays you can pull off, but the money does tend to peak and valley so even when you are up $20, use that money wisely because you might spend it all before you see your next tcon.
There's probably 1000 more things to mention about this deck, feel free to ask any questions! But i recommend trying out the list in its current state before making changes, most of the cards I've chosen are in here for a pretty good reason.
