Knights of Kitdonia

Flatline 477

First iteration of (yet another) Kitty Kit deck. This time she brought her chivalrous friends!

The idea behind this deck was born while playing at a bunch of local tournaments, and realizing that:

a Corp against Kit has some serious economical problems, as it has to fortify with at least two ICEs any important server (HQ, R&D, Scoring remote); Cyber-cipher is, literally, a BEAST: it can pierce ANY first-ICE with very little money; Once the Corp ICEs the most important servers, you have to transition to a full rig. Albeit Shapers have lots of drawing and tutoring, this will take a little time, opening a few scoring windows for the Corp; Femme Fatales are really great for BIG ICEs (I'm calling you Weyland!)... but what about "middle ground" ICEs? Breaking an expensive ICE for 1-2 credits each turn can be tempting, but at times it is not worth the 9 credit investment.

So, taking into account these notes, I saw a possible solution in Mala Tempora: the Knights. A good universal breaker, quite inexpensive at two credits, tutorable mid run (and installable thanks to Deep Red), and capable of making ANY server not at-least three ICE deep absolutely unsafe for the Corp. Add to the mix the recycling properties of the Shapers, and you have an easily adaptable, furious, cheap, run machine :) (add Scavenge to the mix to remap the singleton Femme, the Cyber-ciphers and the Knights)

DISCLAIMER: For the moment this is a proof-of-concept. This deck hasn't seen ANY tabletop (or OCTGN) time, so take precautions, and if you manage to test it before I do, report your findings! :)

This inspires me to revisit my kit deck posted on here, using knights instead of atman.

The problem I see is that the corp can just trash the ice. Sure that takes clicks, but it also takes you a click to put it back usually. Not that thats bad, but I think atman does kind of the same thing, only at a marginally higher cost. Offset by the fact that the atman can be applied to other ice of equal value.

I'm definitely inspired to twist it to my whim. Also, put in escher. Escher is very good in Kit.

Yeah knights seem pretty efficient. Personally I like bishops too in variants of this deck with Yog and Dinosaurus. One question Flatline: why Deep Red over Omni-Drive? It is not criticising, just pure curiosity.

Because Deep Red gives you the memory you need and, more important, gives you the possibility of installing knight mid-run with Clone Chips and SMCs :)

(actually probably the deck needs a little bit extra memory...)

Regarding ICE trashing. This is great for you! Remember, you know what is the most external ICE (and usually a smart corp puts code gates as the outermost ICE against Rielle), and if the corp trashes the second ICE (the one you Knight-ed) you have a code gate (or an ICE you know how to deal with) as the new inner ICE... and well the newly installed ICE in the end is a code gate :D ...add to this the fact that you have a huge recycling ;)
