The Running Man

"Killian! I'll be back!" "Only in a rerun."

This deck is called the Running Man for a couple of reasons. First, Thematically, it runs a lot like the movie of the same name: Contract Killers and Public Supports on top of Expo Grids and heavy emphasis on a meat kill will make you feel like you're Damon Killian sending your futuristic gladiators after your foe. Secondly, it will force the runner to run on your ridiculous lateral spread, and I frankly don't care if they score agendas most of the time, due to Contract Killers and Punitive Counterstrikes, especially if I have a Cleaners scored.

Install, advance, advance is the name of the game. Once you've established that it's more likely to be a Contract Killer or a Junebug than an agenda, getting a Cleaners out is much safer. Don't be afraid to do this turn one, it can actually help to let the runner know that you are not fucking around, and that like an Uruk-Hai, you have come to kill.

The extra credit to access from Gagarin is a total bummer for the runner, it's not crushing, since runners can get rich these days, but it can definitely screw with their mathing ability when up against Matrix Analyzer, Data Raven and Caduceus. Speaking of Matrix Analyzer, holy shit do I love this card all of a sudden. This is a recent addition, and I've always felt that this card should be played more, but it's a rock star in this deck, getting your Killers online for free, and confusing the runner when you suddenly start advancing a naked never advance on their turn.

Public Support is just a kick in the teeth for the runner, and it's a great value: 2 creds (or 0 with Mumba Temple) for either an agenda point or forcing the runner to pay 5 (with Gagarin tax) to trash it. I've scored two of those and a 3 point agenda in the same turn because a lot of the time, the runner just can't spend the two clicks and ten credits.

I'm not a tier one kind of player, I play for fun and deckbuilding, but this is my first creation that's as much fun to play as it is consistent. There's a lot of upcoming Mumbad Cycle cards that makes it seem like somebody at FF headquarters plays Weyland like I do, so hopefully this will continue to be refined and grow stronger over the coming year.

You might consider PAD Campaign to replace some of the event econ, especially with Mumba Temple to rez it
