Hot town, summer in the city, back of the runners neck will get dirt and gritty.
The only shadow in this city will be the one the runner feels of the impending boot to the face by one of Argus’s Security thugs.
City works Project is considered by many to be one of the poorer 5/3 self protecting agendas. And there’s truth to that, because it does nothing before it’s installed. However, it turns into a nasty smack to the head of any runner once you’ve put it out and double advanced it.
Couples with Argu’s ID ability, this deck is all about tempting the runner, at times with open agendas, to come down and steal what is rightfully Weylands property. We all know you don’t do that to Weyland, and Argus is here to remind people of that.
You’ve got several ways to protect agendas with Ben and Prisec, which makes stealing a City Works once installed very painful. You’ve of course got a follow up Punative Counterstrike to batter them into submission after a steal (and you’ll give them a Wake Up Call should they get a Film Critic working for them).
Smaller agendas like Hostile and Stand-off help you rez Archer and Tithonium for some brutal face checks I’d needed.
All in all most of the time you beat a runner to death after a steal, or a runner can’t take the pain of getting into a server and you just score out.
Punishing central pressure is probably where the deck is weakest, again though your best bet is to keep up with pushing agendas out, to bait them back to your remote where you can slam them once more.
It’s not the next worlds beating deck, but I find it’s right in theme with what Weyland does best, and wears its heart on its sleeve with what it’s going to do to you.
