Jinteki PE: Weeping Willow (2nd Place—Troy, IL Tournament)

MmmBraaains 463

General Strategy:

Mushin No Shin + Net Damaging Traps (Ronin, bluffed Snare, bluffed Psychic Field) + Cerebral Overwriter + Any Net damage while accessing cards + Agenda (bold move, double bluff)

Play tons of remotes and patiently wait for the runner to start feeling brave enough to run and see what happens. Pressure with some small Agenda scoring as needed, but in the end this deck wins via Flatline way way way more than 7 agenda points.

Here are some notes about some of the card choices.

Agendas: Future Perfect thins out the deck because of its high agenda value and allows for more traps. When drawing Future Perfect, I like to keep it in my hand. I try very hard to not ever have to install and advance it. Best case scenario I over draw and Jackson Howard them away.

Fetal and Philotic does damage. Philippic can be a win condition if timed out right

Gila Hands helps with econ

False Lead is epic. Scoring this agenda compounds the pressure placed on the runner to manage their clicks and hand size. It's also really easy to forget about the agenda. A lot of runners might run early and click up their hand later. If they run early and hit some damaging things you can pop False Lead to keep them from refreshing the hand and follow up with Neural EMP, or advancing an agenda, or clicking a ronin.

Assets: Standard stuff here. You might ask about Melange Mining Corp. I LOVE this card. All too often you will find yourself creating remotes that never turn into anything. Most often the runner will assume its a failed trap attempt. Rez and gain tons of money while you can. Often times I will rez Melange and use it 2 or 3 turns in a row until the runner finally realize that I will most likely keep doing it until they get rid of it.

Operations: Sweeps is a nice synergy with runners wanting to keep their hand full against PE. Sometimes it falls short when you get some brain damage on the runner, but often times if you get some brain damage on the runner you are in a pretty good position so no need to worry about a full sweeps week.

Ice: Pup is nice and taxing. Komainu wins games. Lotus field is nice to keep the runner out of HQ if they are playing Criminal nasty-ness and HQ stuff. I also like Lotus field when the flatline strategy falls through and you need to start scoring agendas. Yagora on R&D, helps add to the mind games.

After the tourney. A few things I might try:

-1 subliminal messaging +1 shattered remains

During some play testing and finding out that the Troy Meta likes a lot of Jinteki PE I would welcome a shattered remains in anticipation of Feedback Filter.
