Pre-rotation decklist |
This was the corp deck I took to the Rules of Play store championship in Cardiff (joint 1st out of 15ish people). It won 3 of 4 games, losing once to prepaid Kate, and flatlining Quetzal, Hayley and MaxX.
The deck uses Midseason Replacements, Restructued Datapool and Breaking News as its primary means of tagging, following up with Scorched Earth and Traffic Accident for the flatline. Most Butchershop decks I've seen use fast advance as a secondary win condition, but with Datapool and Breaking News you can dictate the tempo of the game enough to slow the runner down and set up lose/lose situations.
I'll explain the reasons behind some of the cards below:
Restrucuted Datapool
Score this as early as possible. Matching the constant traces as a runner is like bashing your head against a wall made of spiders and misery. And if you don't match the trace, mummy spider will burn your house down.
Muckracker/Virgo
Because faceplanting into these makes the runner very sad, and they synergise with Making News. Data Raven is great in general, but nobody takes its tag without having a way to deal with it.
Explode-a-palooza
Astroscript is a great agenda, but a 5c swing makes a successful Midseasons a lot more likely/profitable.
Targeted Marketing
Account Siphon can go and reproduce with itself and I didn't have the influence for Sealed Vault.
Power Grid Overload
In case of double (or single!) plascrete.
SEA Source
A backup in case of Film Critic, but in practice Restructured Datapool was scored in both cases before I saw Film Critics.
Reversed Accounts
To keep the runner behind on credits to make Midseasons easier to land.
The rest of the cards should be pretty self-explanatory. Operation economy is for surprise burst and the earlier power spike compared to drip.

I love a deck that uses Datapool, and I can personally attest to the "wall of spiders and misery". Trying to fight that many traces (especially in Making News) without is just futile.
