Replicating Taxation

Is this the second place list from the Store Champ that CorpDraw streamed on Saturday? It looks a lot like it. Nice deck! One question - how useful do you find Will 'o the Wisp?

It is actually the first place list. Congrats on the win, Rachel! From what I saw and heard, WotW was very good.

In theory, it's actually super good in conjunction with the Grail ICE, because runners often need the full rig against it. Will can often tuck the breaker that matters, meaning they need to Special Order for it, or have an SMC waiting. Can buy you buttloads of time.

The only changes I would make would be with the ICE. 3 Wall of Thorns is a little much for my tastes, and I would at the very least test with 2 Jackson and 3 Lancelot. In that case, I would go:

-1 Jackson -1 Komainu -1 Wall of Thorns

+1 Lancelot +1 Celebrity Gift +1 Himitsu Bako (or Wall of Static, or Bastion, or Chimera, or... Quicksand when it comes out)

Otherwise, it's super-tuned and fantastic.

Thanks! I had a few tough games earlier that week against stealth Andy, I felt that WotW would help with that match up. I didn't feel the need for more then 2 lancelots, because it's low in strength and usually they have the sentry breaker before running. I do wish I had one more celebrity gift, I may ditch an ice for another. I also used wall of thrones because of its higher strength and a runner can't hit it on a central and bounce off. That was my main reasoning. Thank for the positive comments and good luck on your store champs!

My main reasoning for wanting the third Lancelot is not for installing him, but revealing to Galahad and Merlin, and to get it more consistently.

I will test it out with another Lancelot. Thanks for the suggestions.

how do you feel the celebrity gifts work with the grail ice suite? do you ever find yourself in a situation where you dont want to reveal that you arent running a more traditional build influence-wise?

I never really encountered a situation where I didn't want to play celebrity gift. Sometimes I can catch a runner off guard with the Grail early, but realistically it didn't happen often. I didn't mind letting them know I have Grail and they could be installed anywhere, it meant they wouldn't run anywhere till they had a full rig. Which gave me time to activate ELP and hopefully score a Nisei.

Celebrity Gift is also quite a bit easier to pull off in conjunction with the Grail ICE, because you're incentivized to keep cards in hand instead of use them. Once the jig is up, you're just revealing cards that have already been revealed.

Just wanted to (again) say well done on your win. Really pleased for you. Think this is a strong deck, I've not tested wisps in my build so will definitely try them out. Feels like the deck needs more economy, especially with the 3 wall of thorns. Not sure what you change though?

The one change I'm considering testing is -1 Wisp for +1 Celebrity Gift. I like the list a lot, but really want that third Gift. I'm not going to cut ice - I played more standard RP for a long time, and I'm pretty convinced 19 ice is the right number. Plus, with all the Grail ice, you want those Wall of Thorns and Lotus Fields so you don't lose to Parasite recursion. So the list is very, very tight.
