Pre-rotation decklist |
This list took down a crazy competitive online district event this weekend going 3W-1L.
Reading the meta, it was clear that runners like crew Hosh, mulch, and deep dive decks were eating up corps at the top tables. Because of this, I noticed a lot of people were playing corps that are designed to do well in very specific matchups, but have a frail gameplan if you can get the best breaker suite (cleaver, buzz, echelon) out and have money to start disrupting the corps board early.
So I just took the best ID in the game and copied Sokka’s homework from 2023. To no one’s surprise, the core of Sokka’s 2023 world champ runner is still very good and a large majority of the decklist hasn’t changed. However, there are a few nuances that I enjoy about this deck that I think make it so deadly.
The first thing I wanted to do was include pinhole threading as I think the card is very strong. Another thing I like about Pinhole is that it plays off the tendency for corps to keep archives open with a Mav, allowing you to have an easy server to run and it still allows you to get a cheeky leech counter.
Another thing I noticed when testing was that I needed to change up the console slot. Maw is a very tempo negative card and it forces runs to justify the upfront $6 cost which I didn’t like. Additionally, with the amount of Amani and rush decks present, I knew I had to play a more tempo-positive console. My testing group has had success with Hermes in Hosh recently, but I had that influence locked up in Pinhole so I decided on just 1x Keiko. $2 for 2 memory and more money down the line is perfect for this deck since it allows you to make a nasty 6 MU rig that can include a 4str echelon + 2x leech to eat up glacier decks.
Lastly, I went down to 2x moshing as I felt that was the weakest card in the deck and I wanted to include wheels because that card is straight stupid. It was also important that I stay to 45 cards so I give myself the best chance to beat rush decks and constantly find the tools I need to win.
Huge shoutout to my testing group The Future Perfect (Chromatically, rip netrunner, Wikignometry, & Sokka) for cheering me on throughout the day!
Also a huge shoutout to the TO’s, judges, players, and NSG for such a great event!
I will post the replays from the event as I get permission but if you have any questions please feel free to comment or hit me up on Discord :D
