Took this and a Hollywood grid based RP deck to Hadrian's Wall Tournament in Edinburgh, came 11th out of 54, beating NEH fastrobiotics, RP, EtF, Titan, and losing to RP (didn't see faust until they'd already gotten 2 Nisei tokens) and Gagarin (had basically won but forgot film critic existed and was installed; first time playing with it :/ ). In all my wins I got a solid headlock going and medium digged/sniped any agendas put down.
I built it expecting all the Haarpsichord decks, and there were some there but I never got put against them. Still I'm really happy I took it; when it didn't suffer from unlucky draw or terrible piloting it was a monster to face, and very fun to play. Most of the people it beat ended up in the top 10.
Cards I might change: The datasuckers go well with faust/parasite, but memory was often tight and I found I was very willing to just use them as faust food in almost every game. Ditching them to make some of the 2 ofs 3 ofs instead (D4v1d I'm looking at you) is tempting. Or swapping for imps, which I sorely missed as a normally noise player. Street Peddlers are always lovely, but recursion is fairly taxed already so losing programs I need to them hurts more than I'm used to. Would consider taking them out for another draw option, then swapping some of the resource based econ for event based.

Influence stopped me from thinking too much about Drug Dealer or Levy. I need 2 Account Siphons to see them early enough, and I was hurting only having 2 clone chips. And I found popping Trope was far more demoralising than a Levy would have been: "So I put all my same old things back, 1 each of Account Siphon and Vamp, all my clone chips, ... " :P |
Thanks for coming up, really hoped you enjoy the day! Heard a couple of people complaining about being crushed by you so you were doing something right... ;)
There were so many Haarp decks on the day, so Film Critic was almost certainly the right call. Even straight up FA players seem to have picked it up to shore up against RnD multi-access. I was using it in my Nasir deck the other day and accessed a Fetal AI against PE. Was getting ready to take the net damage and scrounge up some money off my Ghost Runner before my opponent helpfully reminded me I had my Critic installed...
Nice use of NACH to go along with Film Critic, makes up for the lack of Plascrete/IHW, I'm considering trying them both in my Criminal decks. Also makes Data Raven and Gutenburg much easier to breeze through!
Any thoughts on Drug Dealer to use with Faust? Or even a Levy to recur absolutely everything?
