Deck valid after Fourth Rotation |
This is a decklist I built to play against a friend who is learning Netrunner after only purchasing System Gateway and System Update 2021. I thought it would be good to publish it because I think it's a good tool to learn to play Anarch as a new player.
Since the inception of Android Netrunner, Anarch has always been about disruption. Funnily enough, within the SG+SU21 card pool, disruption is more on the Criminal side with cards like Emergency Shutdown and Forged Activation Orders. One thing Anarch has rolling though is cheap ways to break.
This deck teaches the fundamental Leech & Ice Carver + 'fixed' breakers combo, which is excellent for central servers pressure and, when built up, cheap remote server access. For annoying ice (looking at you, Tollbooth and Archer), we have another cute bicycle trick with Femme Fatale + Retrieval Run (which is also our only recursion in the SG + SU21 format).
This deck also borrows from the old 'looking for job' archetype by using Career Fair to install more expensive but crucial resources.
The original deck had an extra Docklands Pass and a The Maker's Eye for additional central pressure but it quickly ran out of MU to cater for Leech, Imp, Fermenter and Botulus. I could've probably just swapped the Imps for more credits or draw, but I instead went for more MU. Instead of the unappealing T400s, which would have been a no-influence solution, I spent some for two DZMZ Optimizer.
All in all, the result is a well-balanced, easy-to-play deck that teaches some fundamentals and old tricks to new players within a somewhat limited card pool.
Oh, and I chose Quetzal because they offer a bit of early aggression. Loup feels a bit niche as a teaching tool and Reina, while not a bad choice either, did not feel as useful.
Enjoy!
