Test Run - Ep2 - Good Stuff Valencia

Looks solid and I've been playing a desperado list for quite awhile myself. With all the 24/7 (and good old midseasons) kill decks forthcoming, do you think a single plascrete and no ive had worse are enough?

A lot of questions for you, since I play a lot of Desperado Val - sometimes with decks really similar to yours - and I'm interested by some of your deck choices.

1) breaker suite: why Atman and no Faust + D4v1d? Atman install cost is steep and as a 1-of you are not guaranteed to see it early enough when it matters ( against bioroids and > str 5 ice in the other cases). Also, 2 Corroder and no D4v1d are not enough against Wraparound imho.

2) event and resources: you don't have a way to recur your events besides Deja Vu. I would play Same Old Thing, since it can be hosted on Street Peddler. I imagine you use Deja Vu primarily for virus recursion. Also, I found Dirty Laundry to be kinda meh in the current meta. You cannot draw 1 of your 2 copies of Dirty Laundry reliably enough to play it in the early game. Other times it gets peddled, and against HB is not great at all. Kati Jones: I feel she is too slow, I cut her and never regret it. 3 Daily 3 Liberated 3 Gamble and are enough money in my opinion, in addition to Desperado, Scrubber and the bad pub.

3) influence choices: my influence goes to 3 Clone chip, 2 Desperado and 1 levy... but I also use Faust. If I would be using Atman, I would definitely cut the Career fair for a 3rd Clone Chip and add a Street Peddler.

4) Programs: 1 Clot in Valencia is not enough since you cannot tutor it. I would add a second, maybe even a third to counter FA which is, in my opinion, Valencia's greatest weakness. But again, if you re not using Faust, Clot will be a dead card against every non-fa deck. Progenitor is definitely interesting, I tried it a bit and swapped it for Ice Carver because it served the same function ( solving the 4 str ice problem and countering CVS) and because deckspace was tight.

5) These days,1 Plascrete is not enough in my opinion .

Final question: why you don't play Faust? It's an amazing card that encourages what anarch decks need - redundance.

Other than that I think the deck is really strong

This is a deck in progress those are all good pieces of feedback. I really think i need faust to keep up the pressure, but then how many copies and what to cut? I need to find room for at least 2 david if I dont have atman.

I run 2 of Mimic, Corroder, Faust and D4v1d, then 1 Yog. Faust is used as a complementary breaker early game, it usually gets overwrited in the mid-game and can come back late-game to break some lockout situation. Levy is to recur economy, blackmail and to feed more cards to faust.

The deck is 51 cards because I need to find some space for 2 plascrete and 3 clot, but the third clot is just a personal preference. The 51th card might be the 3d blackmail also, since I was thinking to cut it and try Ddos, which is perhaps more useful now that good corp players expect blackmail recursion.

So, if I were you, I would cut:

-1 Atman -2 Career fair -1 Kati Jones -2 Dirty Laundry -1 Deja Vu

And I would add: + 2 Faust +1 Clone Chip + 1 Levy + 2 D4v1d + 1 Same Old Thing

If you want to tech against FA, you can cut the Vamp for a second Clot. 2 Clot 1 Imp 1 Plascrete is probably even more versatile than 3 Clot 2 Plascrete but I have to test it out.
