Core Set |
Data and Destiny |
Hello All
I'm off to a new guys tournament in a few weeks. The idea is you can only use three core sets and one deluxe set to make both the Runner and Corps decks. I have Kate and HB decks I'm quite happy with but I can been looking at if there are better options.
I'm currently thinking that I should swap to Criminal (I will explain why this means I'm looking at NBM in a second), in my practice games Scorched Earth has been a real problem because of the lack of Plascrete Carapace. In the core Criminal get Decoys and Crash Space, this combo (and careful running) in a few games meant I was un scorchable as decoys drops the tags and crash space either took time being destroyed by SE or was free tag removal. When I looked at the deck I noticed I had only around 7 cards from Honour and Profit. One of the problems with this format has been making a deck with NBM from Data and Destiny as the runner decks from what aren't usable with the core and D&D. So my criminal deck with a few tweets might be the way forward.
I'm not sure about the deck, I have never played with NBM, I have tried to make it based around the tags. The idea is to put a data raven in front of R&D, this will mean 4 of the agendas became un steal able as Quantum Predictive Model is scored for me when the runner is tagged and they will get tagged going through the data raven and then 15 minutes is a quick click to get back. Gobal Food Imitative is only worth 2 to the runner so meaning if all goes well they will have 15 possible points of agendas to steal. They also have the chance to run into News Teams and either lose an agenda point or two tags. if they get that at the wrong time the SE will get them.
So as a new player to NBM any thoughts?
I'm also going to post a Jinteki and Criminal deck list so you can see what I'm running with this.
Thanks Ben

Hey, the core of this deck looks solid for such a limited card pool. A few changes you should make: 1- Go down to 44 cards, as this isn't a 45-15 ID, this will make it a lot more consistent and will help you find your kill combo. 2- Add 3 breaking news (drop QPM and/or PriReq) to capitalise on the kill potential of that card. With SanSan down, you can score out of hand and use last click to scorch or closed accounts or all seeing I. And its your best target for 24/7 news cycle, considering no one will have plascrete and decoy only prevents 1 tag, it should be deadly. 3- Drop some ice, your economy is almost non existent, so 3 tollbooth is excessive, and tl:dr does nothing in this deck :(. Plus this being a kill deck and it being a smaller than usual deck, around 10 ice is a good number. There are a few great pieces of ice from data and destiny you should consider, namely Archangel and Turnpike. 4- Try find space for some PAD campaigns to round off your economy after you drop some ice, and a third News Team would also make the deck even nastier. Don't be scared to drop some of the tag punishment that isn't scorched earth to make space, (I would go down to 1 all seeing I).
