I Want To Break Free

Chewie 9

Thematically Adam starts the game with 3 directives pre-installed that drive his style of play in the early game. Mid-game he calls upon the good Dr Lovegood to help reprogram those directives depending on the situation. Late game he smashes some or all of those directives with independent thinking.

I've been play testing Adam for the last couple of weeks now. My current observations on his play style: Drug dealer is a strong draw engine and usually only needs 1 on the board. There is an interaction with Dr Lovegood that allows you to avoid the 1 credit tax at the start of your turn but personally i find data folding also helps in this regards so you can blank out always be running instead.

Early game I wouldn't be too precious about your cards , face check Ice using ABR if needed. Faceplanted an architect? So what. Use ABR on the first sub if your really that concerned but usually nothing's been trashed yet and it's first click. Enigma can be annoying but it's 1 click loss, not the end of the world.

Mid game you should have a reasonable idea what ice you have to deal with on centrals I'd typically have the inner R&D and HQ ice rezzed. The lack of tutoring is probably the biggest weakness of the deck but the 2 card draw each turn certainly helps keep the tempo going.

Typically in the late game i would trash the Dr lovegood and ABR with Independent thinking for 4 cards maybe trash a scrubber for 6 but 4 is usually enough on top of the 5 to 7 in hand to feed faust for rnd lock with the interfaces and HQ with the HQI ability of the Neutralise all threats directive. I would usually keep NAT and Safety first installed unless I need faust food with IT.

Testing is still ongoing I'm going to try removing the scrubbers in place of hunting grounds next. The deck is also very susceptible to Sea source so another plascrete is probably required maybe in place of the SOT or 1 Kati. I've previously tested E3 but found I was rarely using it and Overmind was too much of a tempo hit in terms of cost that i found ABR more helpful for pressuring the corp early on.
