Lots of remotes, lots of Sundew. GRNDL Refinery is maybe my new favorite card in this deck. Throw it behind Chimera and advance it twice (they will come for it). Encryption makes it hard to trash and RP identity makes it even harder to justify. Rich horizontal Jinteki! Can't wait for Diversified Portfolio to come out.
Play naked braintrusts in remotes and watch them squirm whenever you use Shipments to install three new remotes with one click. Bad runners will never run your remotes (just install your agendas naked for extended stays), good runners will make calculated remote runs (make them pay to trash and protect Sundew and GRNDL with Chimera.
Very similar to Db0's Untrashable (a beauty of a deck), but this is actually built from my old RP deck that used Encryption + Shipment to shell game the runner. Sundew, GRNDL Refinery and Jackson didn't exist back then...so the deck struggled mightily. This one, however, is formidable.
Weakness = Atman...but nobody has ever put one out against me at strength 2. That would slay me I think.
I like 49-card corp in case of long, drag-out matches. This one is currently at 48.

I like the deck, very similar to one I built but haven't played yet. My ICE is a little different, and I can't wait for H&P for more ICE, but the idea is the same. My main difference is running 3 Thomas Haas. He doesn't give as much money, but the ability to trash him without a click is invaluable. Dirty laundry in? Trash and DL is wasted. That's just one example but the short is he is safe to use vs the riskier Refinery. I would drop the Ronin and Hokusai grids just because I prefer more ICE but I can see keeping the Ronin for flatline. Maybe -2 refinery, -2 Hokusai grid, -1 encryption protocol, for +3 Thomas Haas, +1 Ronin, +1 JackHo. Adjust the ICE a bit with the left over INF. I suggest rototurret and/or wraparound make it in. :) Again, love the deck, and I don't run encryption protocol or SfMM in favor of better ICE through INF, but hope it works out well for ya. :) Also...I, like you probably, can't wait for diversified portfolio in H&P. :) |

Yeah I can see you wanting Diversified Portfolio hehe... I was arguing with db0 on Facebook that it doesn't look like such a good card to me, but with all those Assets... even only the 3 copies of Encryption Protocol require a remote, so you'll likely have plenty. Ayman would definitely present a big problem though, what about diversifying the ice strength a bit more? Even Wall of Static and Bastion should help a lot. |

I could see going with a crazy blend of barriers and maybe code gates too. Barriers could easily be one each of wraparound, ICE/paper wall, H-Bako, WoS, Bastion, and WoT. 1-5 str barriers frontman hate. :) Add in some enigma, rototurret, Grim, and swordsman and watch the Katman player desperately do the math in their head every turn. Lol |

My local meta thinks encryption protocol is weak... I think it is amazing in a deck like this |

Given that you only have 48 cards, I could definitely see adding just one more piece of ice, especially because more ice can never hurt. I'd suggest +1 Neural katana. In RP, it's always good to put over a central for early game face checking. In my RP I've definitely had some success with it. |

A lot of smart runners use a 2-str Atman against Jinteki - it gets you through fenris, tsurugi, himitsu-bako and data-mine. With a sucker counter, it gets you through a katana. That's basically 95% of most early threats from a red deck right there :P |

Some good comments here. Let me see... @vevicus. I was running 3...then I cut to 2. But I was still seeing it too often and usually had assets in hand that i wanted to play. I've cut to 1 now and it seems fine. @paddosan. Encryption never fails me, I always like seeing it. @HepatitvsJ That would be some serious Ice overhaul. But I'm thinking about some cheap barriers. So looks like I need to throw in another ice...bastion maybe? @PeekaySK. I'm waiting for that game to come...and I'm a lil scared. |

@HepatitvsJ Refinery is the the new star of the deck, so that stays. Hokusai is for R&D and Archives to deter runs there that they need in order to run remotes...it's saved my bacon more than once and hardly ever gets trashed. I actually just pulled out the 3rd Jackson because it would show up too much and I'll probably cut the Ronins in favor of Toshiyuki Sakai. I almost never need the Ronin. The threat of Ronin is enough I think and Toshi makes them think there's a trap. Mindgames! |

@HepatitvsJ: Not sure how a Thomas Haas being trashed prevents Dirty Laundry from paying out. The run is a success regardless of whether or not a card is accessed. It's actually sometimes useful to run against a lightly ice'd and unused remote server in late game sometimes specifically to get benefits of bank job, desperado, and dirty laundry for the least effort... |

@HepatitvsJ: nevermind, the DL prevention would be the case if you left Thomas Haas in a server by itself with no ice protecting it. Derp. |

Lol. Yeah Valarissa, no ICE servers are common in RP. I learned that the hard way running DL into a JackHo server with no ICE. I was expecting a trap but just wasted a DL and 2c instead. Oh well...he had to remove the JackHo at least. :) |

That's the frustrating part about running against this type of deck. You never know if it is worth it or not |

Actually, about as well or badly as it would against any other Anarch Identity. Basically, Whiz's trashing of stuff from RnD doesn't bother you as much as his trashing of stuff you installed and paid for... but by then, he's investing extra clicks into the effort as well, so you don't come out as behind as you'd think. From my experience, the added pressure from Whiz as an identity is basically comparable to the added pressure from Noise's random-mill BS, and Reina's added econ pressure (which becomes more or less comparable to 1 less rezzed and active PAD campaign at all times). tl;dr version: depends on the rest of the deck, not just the ID. |

And the secret to beating these decks is: "if you can run it and still do something else worthwhile, it's definitely worth it". |

Peekay is right, the two times I've played against a Whiz deck I had no problems with his trashing ability as long as I got the cards installed in remotes...it just wasn't worth the two clicks to go trash. Both times I did ice up R&D pretty well with Hokusai in the root...so not much trashed from there. The card that hurts this deck is definetely Doppleganger. It negates the identity and always forces me to play punishing ice on all three centrals. Hokusai is important against that as well... |
Oops, noticed a mistake. -1 Executive Retreat and +1 Corporate War. I tried to save the edit post-publish but it's not showing...
