Well, I have to say, I had little faith in this deck. I've been a long time Criminal player and I was unsure about going back to anarch.
Truth be told I built this deck originally as an Omar Keung with the intention of having fun, in the end I decided to switch to whizzard at the last minute. But despite an initial lackluster performance in the Swiss portion of our modest Nationals it gave me some surprises.
About the programs:
I tried about every combination i could think of when building this deck. No faust, 3 medium, djinn, nerve agent, etc. In the end it came out... exactly as expected... no much room for innovation there. 2x Black Orchestra seem like too much considering how expensive it can get, so a bit of yog support was ok.
About the Harware:
Obelus is an awesome console that makes playing medium incredibly rewarding. And yes, two plascrete. My first match of the tournament was against a BOOM! deck, so I don't regret it.
I tried netready eyes on it as well, and decided against it at the last minute. During the tournament I saw at least 3 other whizzard decks struggle to find NRE in order to access a server so I don't regret leaving them out.
About Resources
One of the advantages of having a national delayed so much that it ended up being played right after worlds was being able to draw inspiration from some of the decks played there. Hades Shard actually won me a game, and the interaction with Obelus gave me a great advantaje in the final.
You would think that Salsette Slums would be a reasonable option considering the NBN heavy meta... except... there were 2 nbn decks in our national. out of 21 players. The decks here were mostly HB, and then Jinteki in second place. While a good choice for any Jaundice afflicted Meta it ended up being a Faust Food most games for me.
About the events
Now this is the good part... Yes, this deck has some very janky choices in it. Amped up ended up being Faust food too, however both demolition run and Showing off were simply amazing. Showing off in particular won me 2 games, and i have to say the card should see more play in decks tha try to lock R&D.
In the end, the most exciting matches I had during this national were with this deck, all of the victories were close call wins, but also all of them were won by at least one card the opponent did not expect.
