Looking to run heavy ICE to make runs taxing. Tried using The Holo Man for a bit, and I still think the card performs very well, but I prefer Anoetic Void since it forces the Runner to commit resources to deep runs that are VERY taxing only to be met with a surprise. With The Holo Man, you have the utility of further buffing LogJam/Tree Line but if you make the remote server too powerful, they'll concentrate entirely on pushing through R&D/HQ. You can try and move The Holo Man around to try and shore up these core servers but often you won't have the capital you need to have it all. Anoetic Void also protects against ICE bypassing effects and can wear out Botulus counters.
Running 3 Logjams since Tree Line is too easily affected by Botulus/Boomerang. Against Anarch/Criminal I'll try and prioritize keeping Tree Line in hand if I can get away with placing Hortums as intermediary defenses. Being able to spike a Logjam with 3 strength in one click is worth far more than an unadvanced Tree Line that feeds Curupira/costs additional clicks and credits.
Easiest card to cut - Business as Usual. This card is can be great utility in Startup due to everyone needing to run Leech (one of the big counters to our big ICE) to make running efficient. Also helps against a Conduit that's tapping your R&D while allowing you to strengthen ICE or advance your agenda simultaneously. With no Mavirus available, it allows utility for continuing your game plan while substantially slowing down the runner or killing their economy. Don't bother using if you're not at threat 3 or you NEED to purge virus counters from a card. Not worth using for just its advancement effect.
As a priority, for your ICE placement:
Descent - First ice placement on HQ/Asset server. Keep in hand for its Expend effect in all other situations.
Hammer - Central Servers as priority. Even on Archives, its good.
Hortum - Asset server protection/early central server protection/gearcheck. Wasted on scoring servers unless Aumakua is running rampant. Never advance it to 3 counters otherwise - I've had it fire with 3 counters once in ~200 games. Don't both advancing it if unrezzed - it's better for people to think this is a Hammer in waiting.
Tree Line - Early asset protection or central servers. Keep in hand for Logjam enhancement (it also puts an ICE face up in Archives, which will add advancement on Logjam rez).
Archer - Eminent Domain target/Send A Message recipient. In general, put this on R&D or the scoring server, even if you can't rez it yet. Sooner or later SOMEONE will hit a Send A Message (it'll be the runner). Make sure to put it down in advance to benefit from the steal.
