Worlds (2023's) Laziest Hoshiko

This is the runner deck I took to Worlds 2023. It is a shameless ripoff of the She/Hershiko deck jan tuno, crowphie and KyraWNY used to stomp swiss during APAC. After the DreamNet ban, I spent weeks iterating and testing, trying to find the perfect refit to make it as satin smooth as the original.

Just kidding. I chuckled in two Hotels, played eight games on jnet, lost most of them and called it a day. You can check the ABR standings to see how well it did but I strongly recommend stretching your scroll wheel finger first to avoid grievous injury.

It's almost 2am and I'm on the terrace of our hotel looking over beautiful Barcelona, loving a city that wants to wake up late and stay up deep into the night (hey that's me too!).

I am overflowing with gratitude for all the incredible people who made this all happen. You are too many to name (or for me to remember) but couldn't possibly hit save without thanking psk and vesper, who made everyone feel so welcome, NSG for having the wisdom to pick a city I could convince my partner to travel to, my partner and her sister for watching my incorrigible children while I spent most of 72 hours with a bunch of weirdos, and all the other hotel guests who were willing to stop asking more questions after I would say "yeah kinda like poker" to them in the elevator when they saw my badge.

Even though I lost way more than I won, especially in CoS (thanks for making me face all the sickos lads!), I had an absolutely incredible time and have no regrets that I was ludicrously ill prepared for what I faced.

Congratulations to Sokka for an unbelievable run (again), to everyone else who made the cut, to anyone who by all rights should have, to the Irish lass who tricked us all into playtesting her favorite insane format, to me for not facing a single snare bear, and to everyone who reminded me I wasn't the only one who fell in love with a pasty goth personification of the grim reaper decades ago.

I look forward to seeing you all next year.
