I waffled on attending SoS for an incredibly long time, hoping and dreaming that all my conflicts would disappear. Magically they did, less than 2 weeks out from SoS! Now I had to scramble for a team. Huge shoutouts to @BardofSnow and @Athion for coming to my rescue and putting together our last-minute team Last Click Run. Waking up to my car towed away was less than ideal, but we still made the 4 hour drive to NYC with only a few minutes to spare, and it was so worthwhile.
I picked up KyraWNY's excellent Memento Mawrie list since it felt like a really resilient deck into a varied meta and could set up such a strong rig so fast. It felt extremely strong on the day, though I never saw my companions as early as I'd like. My two wins were steamrolls, but my two losses were brutal. One game against Thule I died to a turn two kill: Facedown gaslight -> Public Trail, Hypoxia, End of the Line. I had exactly 7 credits and 4 cards. Rip. My worst matchup was into R+, where I couldn't keep up with tags + trash costs. Funhouse felt impossible to overcome, and I sorely missed having hippo, hush, or even botulus. Wheels kept me in the game for a little while, but wasn't enough.
A huge thank you to @Kysra for organizing an incredible event and creating amazing artwork! Thank you to everyone else who helped the event run smoothly. Shoutouts to New England for taking names this weekend & UNT for moral support. Always Last Click Run!
