The goal of this deck is to leverage Nasir's ability in the set up phase. The idea is to get a workshop down and load your hardware and icebreakers onto it as soon as possible, then run. If the corp rezzes ice, use the paid ability window to dump all your credits into the appropriate icebreaker (or Toolbox) before you encounter the ice. If they don't rez, you get free access.
Of course, this only works in early game while the corp is still rezzing ice. So, I went with the most efficient icebreakers possible. That means Torch and Morningstar. Install price was not a factor; if Nasir installs them off the workshop as planned, the initial expenditure is a sunk cost anyway. I added two datasuckers to bring down the rare mega-barrier to 5 for Morningstar.
Ideally, by the late game you've got a suite of efficient breakers up. Nasir's ability has become less useful, but the recurring credits on Toolbox could potentially pay for a run all on their own. This, plus the 2 memory (to accomodate Morningstar) and the 2 link (to save more money - this deck cannot be tagged) were enough to sell me on the pricey console. And again, ideally you're installing it via Workshop and the money's lost anyway.
The recurring credits/hyper efficiency strategy is also why I decided to do with a stealth breaker for sentries. It was originally Switchblade, rather than Dagger, and I may go back to it, but for now I want to see how effective Clot can be. The need to burn two stealth credits rather than one also made Switchblade harder to set up. There's a rumored Shaper hardware tutor coming soon, which might make the process easier. Either way, I have 3 Ghost Runners to provide stealth credits until I can find my Silencers.
Speaking of tutoring, Test Run is basically perfect for this deck. It allows you to pull your expensive icebreakers, install them for cheap, and then stick them on Workshop next turn. I would probably drop SMC before Test Run in this deck.
Econ is the area I'm least sure of. Kati absolutely needs to be here, but not for the usual reason. Here, she's a bank. You pull credits off her AFTER a run, rather than before - at least until all the ice is rezzed. Underworld contacts syncs up nicely with Toolbox and gives you reliable, long term income to add to the recurring credits in the late game. I've been going back and forth on Professional Contacts and Magnum Opus. For the moment I've settled on ProCo to help me dig for rig components, and to save on memory.
I've been trying to find a spot for Net Celebrity. One, because it adds more recurring credits to power efficient icebreakers, but more importantly so I'll be able to trash currents like Enhanced Login Protocol, Housekeeping, and the upcoming Defective Brain Chips. I'm also still going back and forth on Switchblade. The ability to skate past Shinobi for 2 recurring credits is pretty special.
Any input would be appreciated. What's missing? What's could I do without?

Thanks! It's not something I'd likely take to a tournament but it's pretty fun when it works properly. |
It's really exciting to see a Nasir Deck again. I thought he is long forgotton. I will try it out and give you some input :)
