Revised Core Set |
For the newbies out there. Here’s a classic revised core deck that pressures the runner by flatline and hopefully provides some useful tidbits (this uses 3 copies of the revised core). Winning the game by flatline is one of the more satisfying ways to end a game as well as scaring your opponent with that thought. With some overall pourous ICE, Jinteki’s real threat lies in the hidden information mechanic this game has so gloriously demonstrated over the years. As some people say, “the fear of the unknown is greater than the fear of the known.”
Keys to Success:
Always Threathen The Snare! Always ALWAYS have at least 4 credits. This threat greatly diminishes when the 3 copies are out and known. The deck’s economic package should help you with that. Never install Snare. The thing is better in your deck or hand if possible unless you know the runner will run anything.
When you install. Install under at least one or two facedown ICE (faction dependent). When you install with the intent to advance 4 or 5 advancements on a card, it’s usually best to install > advance > advance that initial turn for that Project Junebug threat.
Be fast and don’t be afraid to take the lead. Don’t let the runner set up quickly. R&D should protect itself early with your Snare threat. Test out the waters of your remote server play and see how the runner acts if it means you’re throwing away a point.
Keys to Failure:
A deck full of expose and cards that give more cards is gonna give you a bad time.
A runner pushing match point is gonna give you a bad time.
Don’t over extend yourself to not be able to afford the Snare! or any of your other traps.
Have fun. Good luck.

Reflecting on things further the deck could benefit from 1 trick of light to mitigate the investment in traps or ronins. I'd drop a PAD campaign for it. |
