BBC: Big Beale Combo

This is the deck that I piloted in both the Belgian and the Dutch Nationals in combination with Dyper Kate. It reached top 8 both times. A week later Mr.Mint took the same deck (-Quicksand + Raven) to the French Nationals and also reached the top 8, great job man.

I made this deck one week before the tournament based on a deck I played 2 years ago. Thinking it would be just a fun deck (for me) to play during our casual meetups. But was suprised that the idea was actually solid. I went back to combo because I think the runners have an advantage in the current meta, making high variance corps slightly better.

Basic Game Plan

The plan is to PS combo into a 4 or 5 point beale. That means we only have to score 2 or 3 points to be on matchpoint. You can either rush behind the few etr ICE, use the one biotic or play the Haarp game (Install a 3/2 and a 4/2, advance). Meanwhile the 4 one-point agendas start dripping in to make your life a bit easier.

You can always PS AD in 2 or 3 points (depending on JH on board already or biotic in hand, just manually advance) by using interns and 2xSfSS.

The 4 point combo (9c)

JH

PS

AD (Interns JH Biotic Reclemation AD)

AD (Interns JH Interns Beale SfSS)

AD (SfSS SfSS SfSS)

You get a 5th point by having either an astro token, biotic in hand (+5c), having all 3 AD or having the JH on board (+1c). If you need to beat clot or some pieces end up in your hand it's often still possible but you'll need to accept that your combo will be slightly smaller.

Special Includes

Haarpsichord: Being able to install 2 agendas and know that you can score one of them is really usefull to get in range for the combo. Just be aware of Leela, Film Critic or Employee Strike. You can also bait safe runs when they are not on 5 points to be able to play PS. Being able to neglect a huge part of your central defense against multiaccess is also pretty huge since you don't have the deckslots, time or money to have a proper defense. Also just stamp on those lame people that are playing Dyper Kate.

Market Research: There are no other good 2-pointers that I wanted. It lets you score 3 points for 2 credits in one pile if the runner is tagged. So why not. Mostly I do it for the raised eyebrows.

Special Report: I originally placed this card under less good JH fodder like a lot of recent cards, yet this became the card that made this deck swing. This is everything I ever wanted for combo in one card. It let's you handle flood without sacrificing Jacksons, because you CAN'T. Shuffle those combo pieces like interns and shipment back in your deck. And extra draw without risking the Jackson trash from your opponent.

Very nice. What role does Archangel play here? Protect Jacksons from Medium digs?

While it doesn't stop the runner it's just a huge pain for criminals in general. It's taxing and you can't really neglect it since you will lose your multiaccess/breakers. The ICE is just too good imo to not play if you're playing NBN, even if your deck doesn't synergises with taxing ICE. The on-access text rarely matters.

"Went back to combo", lol. Can't remember the last time you didn't play a combo deck, Brian. :p

Nice work, btw!

I loved playing this deck during the french national (5w/1l during swiss, 1w/1l during top). It's super strong against criminals (you don't really care if they're rich).

I think special report is the best support card for this deck. During all my games I only used Jackson once to shuffle back agendas. I will probably play 2 of those on every nbn decks I play in the future.

Thanks for the deck Bryan, a masterpiece ! ;)
