For the past couple of months I've been working on this idea that's been swimming around in my brain since they announced Political Dealings.
Being a long time NBN player, and lover of all things fast advance, I couldn't help but notice how awesome SAU and PD seemed to be a perfect marriage.
Jeeves: I experimented with Code and Spags versions of HB:FA Jeeves for a while. The idea is great, but it became clear to me that Jeeves is not a star, he's only a supporting character. However, he does let you score Improved Protien Source from hand, which is amazing, I also like him because he's a must-trash. If they don't? Well, that's a bad idea. This is asset spam all the way, and I really have him to let me push out the servers as fast as I can, and still make cash or get ice installed.
Bio and Hostile: This is a threat. It's often an empty threat, but not one anyone will take lightly. Sure, Whiz will trash your Jeeves for two, but is he willing to lose a card? Even with pancakes this makes a tougher choice, especially if there is a Bio or two out. The asset spam makes his choices triple difficult.
That Ghetto Snare: So far, this is casual, though I still don't think I would plug in a Cyberdex in place of the Snare. In fact, I think I would rather have more Snares. I've given thought to dropping the proverbial something for more, but so far I just cannot get there.
Ashigaru and Komainu: Outside of Swordsman, these have been my best friends against Faust, or just about any runner who gets their rig set up quickly. There aren't many who are willing to lose their hand once they realize Bio is in the deck. On top of that...that wonderful Snare. This deck isn't built to flatline, but the more tricks they see, the more careful they get.
I played asset spam NEH all tournament season, and my corp side was always strong, and I wanted to keep FA, I loved the asset spam, but I wanted a stronger econ, and that's where Palana comes in. I'm never broke, and recover quickly even when Siphoned thanks to Jeeves + Turtle. The Hedges do their duty, but almost feel superfluous, and will likely be the next slot I modify.
Thanks for reading, and if you have any comments or suggestions, I'm always open to them.

@Pestilence: Money, which equals speed and flexibility. Besides, I want them to try and trash as much as they can. They'll only break themselves just as fast as they might against IG, and since it's cheaper for them than against IG, they'll waste time when they could be running R&D. Seriously, the amount of money Palana generates is not to be underestimated, or the tempo advantage it creates for the corp. |
What's the advantage of having this in Palana and not IG?
