So, we had our annual unofficial tournament here in Louisville, KY. Unfortunately, attendance was not as great as it has been in the past. Regardless, fun was had and I actually did quite well, placing 1st amongst us 8.
I went in not having any sort of Runner deck together or in mind for it, so I netdeck the World's Hayley deck but made one small tweak-I removed Information Sifting and Inti for a second Beth Kilrain-Chang and Paperclip.
I knew our meta had moved away from Cerebral Imaging, so I didn't feel the need for Information sifting. I also knew the biggest change Corp's were making to combat the absurd efficient of Paperclip is either no barriers or large ones, so Inti had to go. And due to the prevalence of either Fast Advance or big money Corps, especially with Bryan Stinson, I wanted to find Beth as soon as possible. I even dropped her turn one against a Scar City of Resources played on me because she is pure value for the rest of the game.
I went into the tournament not having played the deck at all, but being quite familiar with Shaper shenanigans as that was always my faction of choice. Overall, I'm happy with my performance with the deck, but I know I could have probably done even better knowing how and when to dig for cards int the deck. My matchups were against Skorpios with Kala Goda Real TV, Weyland: Builder of Nations, and Jinteki: Aginfusion.
Round 1 vs. Skorpios
Pretty Standard game here of not trying to get your breakers trashed, especially since I was running singletons of my breakers. His ICE choices was almost all Barriers and much to my chagrin, he hit Paperclip with Kala Goda Real TV. Fortunately for me, his ICE early was light so he left HQ open, instead opting to protect R&D and create a scoring server. As such, I just hit HQ regularly and snagged a Hostile Takeover and a High-Risk Investment. But worth lucky pulls from what I heard, with 1 in 5 chances both times. This gave me a bit of breathing room. As I spent some time setting up some more, I was able to finish the game out with a carefully timed Strength 1 Atman, Indexing, and into a The Shadow Net Mad Dash for the win.
Round 2 vs. Weyland: Builder of Nations
I think it was turn 1 I got to walk into R&D and steal a Hollywood Renovation , which gave me some time to setup. Unfortunately, that time didn't last two long as he was able to get a scoring server setup quickly and then proceed to score out his own Hollywood Renovation. One interesting play stemmed off of a misplay. The Corp installed facedown into the scoring server and before his turn was over, I SMC'd a Femme Fatale onto a Tollbooth on R&D (and installed some other program) planning some Indexing runs. But then my opponent realized he installed Oaktown Renovation facedown, so he had to flip it faceup and we backed up my play, so my Femme was designated to his scoring server. So that got me to 5 points. The final agenda steal was me sneaking into the scoring server with a Stimhack for the win, having to break through a 7 advanced ICE Wall and two other ICE.
Round 3 vs. Jinteki: Aginfusion
Another standard game though my opponent had an issue drawing economy, only drawing one Medical Breakthrough and one Celebrity Gift. Though he did get to use Bryan Stinson once or twice, most of his money came from my Peace in Our Times. His Celebrity Gift did reveal three agendas (one Philotic Entanglement and two Obokata Protocol) in HQ and when his hand dropped to two cards, I was certain he had at least one still in there. So my Mad Dash into HQ got me to 4 points on a 50/50 access for the Obokata. His economy was hurt even more when I ran an early server with SMC and he rezzed Susanoo, in which I promptly Femme'd. Unfortunately, all I saw was a Reversed Accounts which I did trash, but the Susanoo now proved useless. After poking central servers and getting ICE rezzed, his money dropped to around 12 credits. So, when he went to score with multiple facedown ICE and having already used his ID ability, I was able to run the agenda with only one ICE being rezzed (and it was Tollbooth, so still pricey :P). But that was the final Obokata I needed to finish up.
It was a fun day and running the Hayley deck was a great experience as I have not played Shaper in awhile and they were always my faction, both mechanically and thematically. With a mixture of luck, a good deck list, and hopefully a few smart plays, I was able to win all three games as Runner (my Corp deck went 2-1) and place first.
I'll post my Corp deck and add the link was I have it ready.

It was really far away, we had 8 people turn out for a store champ I went to in Indy that day. I woulda come to ChiLo but I didn't hear about it until like well after I made plans with others to go to the store champs in Indy. Nice win though! |

Hey, congrats! 8 for a ChiLo is pretty sad -- I remember my first ChiLo was, like, 50-60 players or something. Hope you guys continue doing it; I'd have been there if I hadn't moved away!
