Guaranteed 10th Place (4-1 Duluth Regional)

Tichy 36

I spent a 5 hour car ride debating what to bring and built an ETF deck. Morning of, I said fuck it and brought SYNC. This SYNC deck is basically the exact same as the Tagstorm deck @itsbigfoot brought to the Team Covenant regional, but new and improved with Exchange of Information.

Name is for getting 10th at both Durham and Duluth regionals and missing cut with a 7-3 record.

Game 1: Vs Ken Tenma This was SYNC's only lost of the day and was a tough match up for me. Ken got off to a good start with turn 1 account siphon, and then constantly made more money than I did throughout the entire game. Could never get the Midseasons or sneak out an agenda. 0-1

Game 2: Vs Stealth Kate Turn 1 I naked installed an Astro and made some money. Kate spent the turn setting up and not running the Astro, leading to a turn 2 score. Kate gets a decent lock down but then steals an agenda (and later admitted he had film critic in hand) when I had the credit lead. Landed a 10 tag Midseasons and then closed his accounts. Next turn trashed his ProCo and digged for agendas and scored out. He grabbed all 3 News Teams this game, and they did work. 1-1

Game 3: Vs Hayley Pretty standard Hayley deck. Installed a naked astro early and scored it out. Hayley had an amazing start with tech writer and a ton of economy cards. This made landing a midseasons probably impossible this game. However, I did NBN things and trained a second astro and he stole a GFI. A few turns later, I installed breaking news and gave him about 20 seconds to take an action before I advanced it. He tried to clot me, but I said I was using the astro token, scored breaking news and exchanged it for a GFI to score 7 points. 2-1

Game 4: Vs Medium/False Echo Valencia I already hate this deck and I mulliganed a bad hand into a hand of 3 agendas and then mandatory drew a 4th agenda. Installed a naked astro, and he ran it. Next turn I iced a News Team and he blackmailed into the server, getting himself one less point. I installed breaking news next in the remote, which he also stole. Finally, I drew into a Midseasons and installed GFI into the remote. He didn't run it, so next turn I double advanced it and made credits. He stole it. I midseasonsed him. Landed 6 tags and cleared out his money resources. He was still preparing for his insane medium dig, and while doing so, I psychoed a GFI for 3 points. A few turns later, he has both mediums and DDOS/False Echos my ICE on R&D and sees a bunch of cards. I cyberdex part way through it. He does it again on a later turn, seeing enough agendas to get to 6 points (he was at 7 if he didn't have News Team). And then I drew into EoI, and exchanged my cat for his GFI, making the score 6-4. At this point, there were 5 agendas left. A GFI in archives, 2 cats in R&D, an astro in R&D and a breaking news in R&D. I fast tracked the breaking news to my hand in order to guarantee my win next turn. He makes the wrong choice of going for an R&D dig, as there was only 1 agenda left and would only get him to 6. He top decked a quantum kitty to give me the win. 3-1.

Game 5: Vs Geist Geist was an interesting match up. Early autoscripter and 3 tech traders really did not do me any favors. I installed a naked breaking news, and he didn't run it. Said fuck it, and installed an astroscript naked and scored it next turn. He Maker's Eyed R&D and saw a GFI, an Astro and a Cat. Unfortunately, he ran through a data raven and the cat was mine. Next turn I scored the breaking news and exchanged of informationed the BN for a GFI (and he kept 2 tags!) At this point, I just had to fast track and FA my BN for the win, but I top decked it anyway. 4-1

MVPs: Exchange of Information, Cyberdex Virus Suite, Naked Astros

Didn't use S&G or SEA Source all day (no one installed film critic).
