Didn't know about the quote, so thanks for that! I, for one, kinda dislike Netrunner referencing popculture outside the genre, but I guess this is how it has to be.

I think the occasional, low profile, head nod like this is ok. HIMYM may not be in genre, but Barney's character (oblivious corporate sign off guy) is a very relevant trope in cyberpunk.
