My attempt at using the smaller sized Weyland ID for some rush and no kill. Many builds for Builder of Nations involves kill or ultra-kill in the case of 4 agendas but I decided to try something different. The pings of meat damage do a good job of discouraging early runs so rush seems to make sense although there isn't a huge amount of advancable ICE here. There just isn't enough good Weyland ICE to include! Trick of Light is my attempt to make full use of the advancement counters. Some other decks include 1 or 2 but 3 really commits to the rush/FA strategy. Using an Atlas counter to score from 2 credits is a nice feeling.
This decks makes quite a bit of money so Will-o'-the-Wisp makes a quite a bit of sense in a rush deck. All your gear check ICE gets a second or third chance to live and if rush is your poison then this seems useful. It also helps against Eater decks to stop multiple Keyholes or Siphons (hopefully we can stomach just one). Plus it's a surprising upgrade that doesn't get Rumo(u)r Milled, which is nice.
I'm not going to pretend that this deck is a world changer. Weyland ICE is just not good enough. However I think this is an interesting take on a new ID. Let's make affordable furniture instead of pillaging.

I did consider Housekeeping but I found it hard to make space in a smaller deck although your approach is possible. I would rather have 3 copies though as it is a current you want to see early plus this deck can leak a few early on R&D or HQ as you try to rush. One Wendigo may be enough but I wanted a certain amount of advancable ICE and Shadow just doesn't cut it for me. |
Great logic. I can see 2x Housekeeping furthering the "slow the runner down" strategy. Maybe you'd drop a Will-o'-the-Wisp (2x might be enough) and a Wendigo (don't want to see positional ice early) or something.
