false xel'naga (Countdown to 2024)

I rejoined the QTM server and saw a conversation from a week ago about publishing lists we didn't take to events in the countdown to 2024. I thought it was cute, so here's something silly I was tinkering with back in September.

The decklist got its name a couple months ago because it represents a hybrid approach to Mulch. Parallel to our explorations with Mulch I was experimenting with Prepaid VoicePAD Anarchs typically alongside Maw or Keiko. This deck, then, is an interrogation of how far the mulch shell can be stretched to overlap with my other ideas.

The answer turned out to be "not that far" as finding room for PrePaids and Bahia Bands was difficult in such a slot-intensive deck. The event package was slimmed down to a single Maemi but in my test games she was still excellent if drawn early. The glaring issue here should be the lack of Knobkierie, a critical part of the Mulch engine. Maw is good but doesn't really do enough.

In hindsight the Q-Loops should probably have gone once the PrePaids did. Our density of targets isn't quite high enough at this stage especially since we're more than happy to bin programs and chip them back later. I'd like to explore Q-Loop more in the future, maybe even in Freedom again (Solidarity Badge seems like a good shout).
