Pre-rotation decklist |
Went 3-0 in one of my store's weekly GNKs and 2-2 in the monthly GNK at Games at Berkley. Has had quite successful match-ups against RP, HB and NBN fast advance. Mostly winning due to R&D digs. If you can get the Drug Dealers early any kill strategy is kinda muted.
A more toolbox approach to Faust in Nasir but the real star in the deck is Drug Dealer. Just one will help you set up the rest of your rig so much faster.
Order of Sol triggers the first time each turn you have 0 credits so at the start of your turn you'll gain a credit which you can then spend at step 1.1 of your turn before the Drug Dealers rob you.
Card Choices
Drug Dealer
Synergises so well with Nasir since he usually has no credits to lose anyway and serves so many purposes:
-Set your rig up faster
-Protects you by drawing cards on the Corp turn
-Clickless draw for Faust and rig
Cerberus
Efficient at getting through barriers and without needing credits. I think Nasir whenever possible would like to break ice without credits. Recurring credits can run out on you when you need to make multiple runs.
Ghost Runner and Refractor
I knew I needed a decoder to deal with Turing and this seemed like the best fit and using Ghost Runners give me emergency credits for trashing cards or playing Psi games, etc.
1 Bookmark and 1 Plascrete
I used to run 2 Bookmarks as part of my Scorch protection but when you need to survive the meat damage in a hurry (Like if they installed Breaking News and advanced it) Bookmark is too slow. One click install, one click host cards and then draw more? Bookmark is used to keep my Levys safe and overdrawn cards due to Drug Dealer and in a pinch, emergency Faust cards.
2 Armitage, 2 Kati Jones
Credits for clearing tags, trashing assets, installing resources and saving up for Levy. Use the credits as you need them.
Femme, DeusX and Sharpshooter
All three of them can break Swordsman and Femme gets around Tollbooth and low cost ice that Corps rez to drain your money. I've had an Argus Security install an agenda with Casting Call behind a Spiderweb which I could break and a yet to be rezzed ice which turned out to be Enigma. Click 1: Unload Kati for 9, Click 2: Run, install Femme from Personal Workshop after they rezzed Enigma and bypassed it. Broke Spiderweb and stole agenda and took 2 meat damage. Click 3 + 4: Clear tags with remaining money.
Sharpshooter and DeusX just breaks taxing ice like Ichi and Komainu so cheaply.
Box-E
Additional hand size for Faust, damage protection and Stimhack brain damage. Only need one copy as you'll draw it in with the Drug Dealers eventually. If I'm expecting a lot of NBN fast advance I might drop it and Datasucker for Astrolabe and Clot.
Datasucker
I chose Datasucker over Personal Touch as it helps trash ice faster with Parasite but many games I feel I never have the time or memory to install it. It has done a lot of work in saving me cards on Architect or Turnpike but I might swap it out and some other card for Clot in a later build.
3 R&D Interfaces
You definitely want 3 as that's how you win most games. You can contest remotes but probably not more than twice per turn.
Play Style
Getting Personal Workshop and Drug Dealers early is always good. You might need to click for credits to install your resources but they're worth it. Credit, credit, install Kati, click Kati happens a lot but if you can make a run and get money that's good too.
Early Game
Run when you have 0 credits to set up your rig faster or get free accesses. There have been many times where during the first turn I have installed R&D Interface/Cerberus and 1 credit resource and then just run.
You can use Stimhack with SMC to get Faust early and slow the corp down. Play Diesels as you need them to set up faster.
Mid Game
You should have Faust on the table and some other breakers. Slow down and install/host stuff and make more choice runs. You always want to be able to run scoring remotes if possible. I usually ignore HQ unless they've drawn a lot and still haven't scored anything out. Imp is helpful here as pseudo-multi-access.
Late Game
Your board will look very cluttered as the Drug Dealers have given you everything you need. You can hold onto Diesels if you need to draw more for Faust or just use it as Faust food. You can probably make one or two runs on R&D per turn to close out the game. Stimhack and Imp can help you dig deeper.
Don't hesitate to use Levy when you've drawn your last card. You can do it last click but when you can't draw anymore that usually gives the Corp a scoring or kill window. When you Levy you'll probably have 20-ish cards or less to Levy which is fine; use your other breakers to support Faust.
Additional Thoughts
Usually for Faust I toss out extra copies of cards I already have installed (Personal Workshop, Kati Jones, Order of Sol) and then cards I might not need once I have a couple Drug Dealers and Faust (SMC, Ghost Runners, DeusX sometimes Clone Chips).
A huge weakness of the deck is tags since you have so many resources and can't keep a stable economy otherwise. Slow down and trash ice like Data Raven or bypass them. Gutenberg can be difficult with Faust but you can take the tag if you can quickly remove it.
Against Butchershop dig for Drug Dealers, Film Critics and Plascrete. Don't worry about discarding cards you can recur them later. One of my losses from Berkeley was against a butchershop with SEA Source which I had seen in a previous run. I kept loading up Kati and building bits of my rig but couldn't outpace it due to asset and operation econ. I should have just kept digging for cards to keep me safe. In the end, he killed with an advanced Breaking News.

If for some reason you start your turn with 1 credit then it doesn't work. You'll lose that credit to the first Drug Dealer and that will trigger Order of Sol. There's no window to spend the credit so you'll lose it to the second Drug Dealer. However, Order of Sol just checks if its the first time you have 0 credits and you can spend the credit you gain the moment your turn begins on Personal Workshop before proper 'start of turn' effect triggers. |
Order of Sol doesn't work with Drug Dealer (x2 or x3), right?
