Deck valid after First Rotation |
How can we make the corp pay the costs for us to break into their servers? Bad publicity! Since rotation, BP exploitation has taken a knock, but we can still do some cool stuff by maxing out all the cards that work it.
Valencia Estevez: The Angel of Cayambe is the obvious person to deliver this deck, forcing the corp to start with one BP. We pair her up with Mining Accident, Investigative Journalism and The Archivist and it's possible to see the corp mounting 6+ bad publicity during the first half of the game! This makes breaking into servers MUCH easier. Val has a 50 card deck, meaning she's often slow to get going, focusing on the late game. To help us set up and get rocking we burn a couple of turns to Day Job and Liberated Account to give us some good cash. Card draw is provided by I've Had Worse and a combo Ive always liked - Window and Mr. Li. We use Li to draw 2 cards, pick one, put the other to the bottom of the deck, and if that was also a card we needed, we can use Window to draw it.
To keep us in the game, we also slow the corp down in big ways by using Itinerant Protesters. With multiple BP it's not uncommon to reduce the corps max hand size to 1 or 0, making their game painfully slow and dangerous to draw extra cards unless they have pre-iced archives before we got going. To top it off Vigil is almost guaranteed to grab us a free card draw every turn with the corps hand size so small. If they do get a good hand, we have a Clot to try and avoid 1-turn agenda scoring and The Source just incase we need to slow them further - paying to steal agendas isn't always an issue with all the BP credits coming our way.
This isn't a play style that I'm hugely familiar with but I've found this deck pretty fun. I'm used to playing Sunny so the slower pace of set up is something I'm used to. Psychologically speaking, it's very powerful making the corp enable you to get through ice. Try it!
