This was my first deck ever built! Starting with Ken Start-Up as my go to guy, I tweaked it into Standard. Shock horror its run deck with all your standard run cards - mulligan for Swift and then try and hit their servers before they can get set up.
Unfortunately at its first real test at the Scottish Circuit Opener, it totally bounced. Though it was able to get some initial easy agendas by Maker Eye & Jailbreak, it then became a game of pot luck trying as the Corp got more established. More crippling was that when my Icebreakers got trashed, I was stuck not being able to make any headway and relying on Inside Job & Boomerangs to make any dent.
There might be a great deck in here, but I don't think I have the skill to make it competitive. Sable seems to be the go to for run decks and my gut says she has the edge.
Back to the drawing board on this one!

Thanks Therebrae - Deuces Wild I’ve learnt is a bit of a staple runner card if not for its versatility alone. Plus it’s an event so good for the Pads. Deep Dive is a great & game winning card but I can never get the right combo of cards to pull it off. One bit of advice was that if I hit an ice wall, I should hold off and build up some creds and then crack it, but I never felt this deck really builds just RUNS. The meta seems to favour Sable for the current best runner (and a bit more interesting) but I still think there’s a way to go with upping my skill in the game yet as well :) |
So a mild first suggestion - Use all of your influence. There are blindspots in every faction, so taking your influence and using it all is critical, especially when one of the big selling points of Ken is that he gets 17, 2 more than most runners! While Deuces Wild isn't a run event, it's a very, very powerful card that I think Ken would like. You could also go heavier on deep dive, cutting a Maker's Eye for a 2nd copy of Deep Dive which is a more powerful win condition, leveraging a few early points along with a haymaker turn with Deep Dive to close out the game.
