Can't Take the Hint

SBT wants yellow dead before Dawn. They won't say it out loud, but if you read between the lines I think you can figure it out. Those who's paths are illuminated by NPE are oblivious to such hints. The deck went 4-1 in Crown of Servers, 6-1 at worlds proper, and this version went 6-0 at NY Showdown (including 3 open decklist cut games). Davz131 took the R+ version to 1st at Belgian Nats and 7th at UK nats (and also played against me in round 3 of the cut here as Mulch Hosh, great grindy game). This deck just rocks.

Unnecessarily aggressive towards whalewolf players runner writeup here

Wins against a DD Lat, crew Hoshiko, and Arissana during Swiss. Wins against Alice, Swift Lat, and Mulch Hosh during the cut. Really awesome games all around, with the Arissana being an absolute nail biter that I barely scraped by. Will post replays when I've asked for permission, that's a really fun game to watch back.

Banlist Updates

As soon as the banlist dropped we realized that there's no reason we can't just play this in Azmari which has been funding toxic shenanigans and tempo alike for years. Azmari adds more consistent econ which means we can drop both of the grids to play the third Seamless Launch and a Skunkworks. Yellow PD indeed, but without the dogshit crim matchup. Not playing R+ means no inherent punishment for the runner going tagme, but Starlit, bounce, an increased reliance on high-power resources (which you can name with Azmari!) and the new 1x market forces more than compensates for this weakness.

The deck can largely fund itself without tranq if you call your Azmari correctly as the runner rarely goes a turn without playing a card. Sure, you'll name event a lot, but because you're jamming and scoring you can name program frequently as well. It's also often right to name Resource for some turn 2-4 against Anarch as they need to get early Bankhar or Crew to contest. Additionally, you're an SGP deck. You know what you just put back in their hand. They wanted it out once, they'll do it again (and again).

Other Considerations

I tested Amani Senai a decent bit as it didn't find it compelling. It's a great include for sure now that Trick Shot is gone and they can't trash for free, but even when I was able to get a good bounce or oppo them after a costly trash, it didn't feel like it progressed the game meaningfully. I might be dead wrong for not including it but I never wished that I had it during the tournament. AMAZE is the card I'm least sure about, but it's definitely at least solid.

Another consideration for the flexy slots would be -2 Degree Mill +3 Beale. This means you'll never lose on 3 steals but can win on 3 scores. Tempo loss from mill shouldn't be underestimated, but I haven't tried Beale + AMAZE, so that's something to consider.

The only change I'd make is -1 ping +1 wrap. Shuffling back a wrap saved me a game after it got crewed, and I think we're gonna see a lot more crew. Speaking of which...

Matchups

Matchups like crew hosh and mulch-style decks are hard, but not impossible. You'll need to force a tag or two at some point (ideally by having them float but public trail if you need to take matters into your own hands) and trash vital resources like Bankhar, Crew, and Cookbook. These games are often grinds, but because they rarely have true wincons (or if they do they're often very trashable or very bounceable), you have time to drag them through your remote over and over, eating advanced Mestnichestvos and wraparounds over and over only to find upgrades, spin doctors, Rashidas that you can take or leave, and AMAZEd agendas. Once you start digging the hole, hand the runner the shovel and demand that they put in the work as well, it's only fair.

Arissana is arguably a harder prospect. You're going to need to land a decent market forces and probably an Amaze to win. Physarum and Botulus together absolutely shred your ice package by skipping stargate and mestni and gatekeeper and wraparound. With good timing you can force things through, but consider scoring a 4/2 and your Degree Mill first and playing to a FA Tomorrow's line using Holo Man.

Thanks

Thanks to London, ben, Dan, and the Pittsburgh meta for helping to test this deck, and to NotAgain for a long chat convincing me to play Skunkworks.

I'm sad that the first corp deck I've actually clicked with has its death warrant signed with rotation, but it's going to be a fun few months till then.

This is wonderful, I was also just experimenting with the Azmari port and I'm really glad it did so well <3 keep being great

@jan tuno thanks so much <3, the jump to Azmari was a case of SBT mandating that I play the better version of the deck, so I'm thankful to them for that 🙏

Amazing result(s), I like manegarm. I have to test amaze vs amani, I think it comes down to runner bones density and tagme fears. Cheers to the even higher winrate Azmari deck!

This deck makes me feel so much joy, love that it's still kicking (my) ass! Congrats on the result!
