The Seventh Circle v2

yokaze 1

My Personal Evolution deck that I've had a lot of success with. One of my favorite aspects of Netrunner is the asymmetry of knowledge so I built the deck that emphasizes that the most.

General strategies are hard to pin down since it depends on the runner you're playing against. I try not to go below 4 credits since it turns on every trap. Outside of that: score points, kill fools.

Agendas:

Pretty standard. The only thing that is likely out of the ordinary are Gila Hands Arcology and The Future Perfect.

Gila Hands is in because econ is (I feel) the biggest weakness of Personal Evolution. Gila Hands is super handy (pun intended) at bouncing back relatively quickly. False Lead would also be good.

The Future Perfect is largely there to keep the agenda density down. I want to have as many traps as possible to make running as dangerous as possible. With Mushin you can score it but I don't know that I've ever bothered. I just pitch them into the archives whenever I see them and fish them back out with Jackson as needed.

Assets:

I've found the Junebugs are super fun to have out when you're up against an aggressive runner. Just install, advance, advance and let them stew a bit. If they don't run it, advance it once more to make them think it's Ronin.

Psychic Field and Shi.Kyu compete for the same spot in my book. Many runners don't like running unadvanced face-downs. However, if you've already scored out a 1-point agenda that had been hanging around, you can sometimes make runners a bit scared that anything is a House of Knives waiting to happen. Other than that Shi.Kyu defends archives as a shock and Psychic Field is good for Shell Corporation.

I went down to 2 Snare! for two reasons: it's expensive (4 for 3 net is less efficient than Shi.Kyu) and people seldom seem to hit it. However, the threat of Snare! is huge to the psychology of the runner so they will (wisely) play around it.

Upgrades:

Crisium Grid is there because Eater/Keyhole. I will likely swap this out when it's less prevalent or I convince myself that Hokusai Grid is more evil.

Shell Corp is Jinteki's best friend. I would run more of them but it's still slower than other econ. I've even used this to protect agendas because I've only met one runner who would run on it once installed.

Operations:

The most obvious thing here is the lack of Trick of Light. I used to run two of them but I realized after many games I was never using it. I ditched it in favor of other things.

Cerebral Static is an obvious include. Noise is death to this deck. Also, if you like seeing people die a little inside, play it early against Kate. It also helps against Leela who is a pretty rough matchup as well.

Mushin no Shin is a god-send to Personal Evolution. I'll install pretty much whatever with this. I don't care if the advancement counters are relevant to the card or not. The threat of 6 net is pretty big.

I only have 2 Neural EMP because you can't use any more than 2 when you've got a fully loaded Ronin. I don't know that I've ever thought to myself "Man, I wish I had a third Neural."

Reclamation Order is good for getting Mushins back. Or if you have your Mushins, grab some Junebugs then, next turn, Mushin out an agenda.

Sweeps Week is probably my favorite corp econ card. It's a big middle-finger to Andy and most runners draw up by the end of their turn so it's good in general.

ICE: The ICE suite is typically in a state of flux. I've gone through quite a few different setups. It's not super important in most games but it's nice to have against criminals early on and it can be a big threat sometimes if you get lucky.

Checkpoint is great in this deck. It doesn't care about the bad publicity and 3 meat damage is non-trivial.

Only 1 Inazuma since it's positional.

Lotus Field recently went down from 3. It's more expensive than Cortex Lock.

Only 2 Komainu because they are also pretty costly.

The cerebral statics are a good shout, I've been forced to start running Sealed Vault in my Cambridge PE deck to avoid being vamped to death.

I've not encountered Vamp much in my local group. However, considering the amount of money I can generate it might not be a big deal.
