For the longest time I've wanted to create a glacier deck with Custom Biotics, with my strong love for NBN Utility cards and taxing Ice, the 22 influence seemed worth building a deck around.
Considering everyone who plays Custom Biotics plays the usual Punitive/Scorched/Midseasons shenanigans, I wanted to try something different and less obvious.
I've played Haas Bioroid glacier for the majority of my time spent with Netrunner and as such it has mainly been playing the glorious (HB : ETF).
The main question is, can it compete with Engineering the Future? Well probably not, but with the card pool growing ever larger its becoming harder to squeeze those last cards and influence in.
The main concepts I am testing with this deck is slow advance with ridiculous taxing servers. Midway station is a card I have wanted to try for a while and combined with Ash I think it could potentially be incredible.
Now take this into consideration Is the extra 7 influence I have included in this deck worth it over ETF? The cards that would be cut if I was to run the latter would be,
Tollbooth x1 (2 Influence) Targeted Marketing x1 (1 Influence) Sweeps Week x2 (4 Influence).
Sweeps especially I think is a good include for early burst economy to set up, and considering most runners will think you are playing meat damage they will tend to keep 4/5 cards in hand, essentially getting you more credits, and out of the weak early game quicker.
Please tear this deck apart and critique, I am play testing Friday for a local tournament on Sunday and am really wondering if, Midway Station is worth running, and whether or not I should just stick with core HB ID.

Yeh man, I'm not convinced with Sweeps week either, and I am a huge fan of successful demo also. Thats all domestic is for your right, scoring 3 3/5s seems pretty counterproductive but then there's the issue of do I need 3 just in case the runner steals one sleepers? Im testing it tomorrow Ill let you know how it go's. |

What about Lag Time? With your current ice list, it pushes your 3 strength ice out of fixed breaker range, and adds that much more tax. I used that to good effect combined with Haas-Bioroid: Stronger Together , but it would seem to have a good synergy with Midway Station Grid in your build also. |

Yeh I was actually thinking of Lag Time, I think its definitely undervalued. What would you think of cutting? |

Retweeked the deck decided to go with : I've cut the idea of Domestic + 2 sleepers, and gone with some Gila hands Arcologys, because whenever I score them my life is fantastic and I think custom biotics doesn't quite have the luxury of ridiculous amounts of credits like ETF. Lag time can really screw the runner with the ice setup completely invalidating their fixed breakers at a time when I have a scoring window. I think the only thing that is stopping Custom Biotics from becoming competitive glacier, is the lack of Weyland and NBN ice that is actually worth taking, besides Tollbooth and Caduceus for the insane tax. Hadrians wall is not needed because of infaction heimdalls, and I'm not really a fan of oversight AI, you might as well play Blue Sun then. I think Order and Chaos may give us some Weyland Ice we need for Custom Biotics to fully function, fingers crossed. |
Always looking for more Custom Biotics: Engineered for Success decks to try. Without playing it, I would wonder whether Sweeps Week are worth the 4 influence. Successful Demonstration might be an alternative that would free up some influence for some other ICE. Also, is Domestic Sleepers worthwhile here? It's great for PsychoGods to turn on Midseason Replacements, but is it worth it here? I guess the idea is to essentially win with 2 5/3 while requiring the Runner to steal 3. Maybe it is worthwhile. I might give this a spin on OCTGN soon; haven't been playing enough HB.
