Mushin'o win: Dirty Dan's den of deception

Dirty Dan 108

Hey, to premier my making of this account (took me about a year XD) I've decided to post my current Mushi No Shin fast advance/slow play deck,

I know, The description I just gave of it being a fast and slow deck is kind of confusing but hopefully after you read this you'll understand the insanity.

The deck runs on the idea of the gamble, placing bets with the other player to see if he/she is brave enough to play your game. Unless of coarse they happen to be using cards to reveal installed cards (I have yet to see it happen outside of my small group of friends that I test play with).

But I digress; making ridiculous plays is a good thing trust me, by using your mushin no shin first turn on anything (preferably a mandatory upgrades) you can really throw some one off the game, and winning after that is a matter of putting all your ice on R&D.

A tip: Most of your ice is NEXT and you also run a couple of mother goddess, don't be afraid to use the mother goddess as a first approach to resing a mandatory upgrades at the start of the game, with ought any other resed ice its just a mythic type ice and cant be normally broken so it becomes a pretty safe wall for that card that will make the game fly by.

Ice: The next ice gets crazy I usually (during a long game) have all my next silvers on my R&D, putting my next bronze on either my HQ or archives to have the opponent run the servers as they normally would to power my next suit. But don't let that stop you from using it on a scoring remote or your R&D for that matter. What ever gets them out of your deck is good. Also architect, because free ice early game is great ice.

The assets: I run the "what every one expects but isn't quite sure" Project June bugs and Cerebral overwrites, I run two of each as every one expects a third of both, in an attempt to have some diversity for my traps. no one expects the Haas arcaology AI or the reversed accounts. sitting on either and using them for a score opportunity is awesome it projects that un-run remotes that sit are still dangerous and may coax your opponent into looking into the game ending June bug or cerebral.

The fast advance can be real: using a scored mandatory upgrades, an un-run Haas arcology and/or a biotic labor you can fast advance out your 3 for 2's or even a 5 for 3. But a once you get that fourth click with mandatory upgrades any agenda seen is usually an agenda scored.

economy: this is kind of tricky, if I haven't scored a mandatory upgrades I usually sit around 4 to 12 credits, attempting to have enough to fast advance with a biotic labor, res a piece of ice or make something I just used mushin no shin on look scary. But once your able to have that fourth click using Gila twice a turn makes any non agenda draw at the start of your turn result in obscene money for the rest of the game.

Agenda's: I'm pretty sure I've mentioned Mandatory upgrades allot already, but it being the main target of the decks best plays I'd think its worth going over, Mushin no shin + mandatory upgrades is amazing when either your opponent has to choose between advanced remotes, they themselves are broke, they can get into a central server with little effort, they have few cards in hand. Gila is as strong of an economy card that can be in this deck as it can be. Accelerated beta tests are always fun to fire when you can risk it as the ice will immediately do work on all of your centrals. The utopia makes any risk on an advanced remote that much greater, especially if you try scoring another mandatory upgrades while the runner is broke. the one vitreous is used as another fast advance target if anything, but over advancing it can be fun if you can pull it off to bring back assets, or mushin no shins.

To re-cap, make risky plays with mushin no shin to make your opponent uncomfortable, stack your next ice to build for the late game, use opportunity cards like biotic labors or reversed accounts to open scoring windows. keep in mind the runners hand size as scoring is as simple as them not having cards to soak net damage.

I hope every one enjoys this read and have fun running.

Looks really good. Would you consider adding Shipment from MirrorMorph too?

Thanks,

I've tested Shipment from MirrorMorph before and it didn't work as I've hoped it would, since then I've been playing around with other cards, replacing Successful demonstrations to free up space.

Also as a side note I feel I should have mentioned that the deck has troubles against parasite recursion .

But does well in most other match ups.

I feel as though you never want to use the beta test proc in this deck since your ice is cheap. Why don't you go -2 ABT, +2 Vitruvius. This will give you the option that your archived memories does, which is never a bad thing. Biotic / mushin / or even a money card if you need it.

On the contrary, I find myself always firing off the beta test whenever I score it. Also during recent testing project Vitruvius was barley used for its ability. three Jackson Howard's can replace the aforementioned successful demonstrations to make the beta tests more secure.

But I do like the direction of your advice and can see how utilizing Vituvius could lead to better use of the mentioned cards. Thanks for the suggestion, I might revisit utilizing Vitruvius soon.

You have 5 free influence. I think a weak point of the deck is economy, at least until a Gila is scored. Have you considered Sweeps Week or Celebrity Gift over Green Level Clearance?

Part of me wants to get GRNDL Refinery in there, but there are only so many Mushins. Another possible use for the influence is Trick of Light. You're bound to have some failed traps.

Yea, I realized too late that I had forgot to put in three jackson howards to quicken up the deck and help for more secure beta tests, but apart from that, I'm usually not struggling with econ in the deck as things are generally cheap. Although I did test GRND refinery at one point of this decks conception and it did help (sometimes) as an econ boost, I found that I wasn't using it too well in the deck and switched it out for closed accounts.

And trick of light has always been an idea, I tested it a little but I still find the card to be too random as some games just flow with the Haas arcology's and biotic labor's too well, fulfilling my fast advance needs

But I do like the direction of your thought and may include more econ in the deck depending on how my local meta shifts in the next few months.
