Pre-rotation decklist |
This deck has been my constant companion for the last two-and-a-half years. I've played it non-stop basically since I got into the game, and it's been changing and morphing that entire time. I think I have V12 written on the title, but in actuality, this is probably the 30th or 40th version of this deck.
I remember when I first picked up MaxX everyone warned me from her. We've all heard it, or said it, I'm sure. "Why would you want to trash 2/3 of your deck. That's ridiculous." And then the MaxX player invariably says something like "But you draw so fast!" And everyone else goes, "Yeah, but still," and the conversation dies.
And yet, here I am, still hanging out with my best friend in New Angeles: a slim, riotous, aggressive, little gal I just can't get enough of...
Every so often I publish my latest version, so here it is as it stands now. If you try this deck, don't expect it to work off the bat. MaxX is more a way of thought than a 'trick' deck that works by setting up a specific board state, or pulling off a big play. The only 'big' play this really has is the whole Eater-Keyhole thing, but that's nothing new...
No, this deck works by being adaptable to ANY situation, fairly quickly. I rarely mulligan. I built it specifically with the old-school Netrunner philosophy that a good Anarch deck should be good no matter what cards you draw. It's not about consistency, it's about dynamic unexpectedness. Go ahead. Mess up the board state for you and your opponent, just to get them off guard. Ram right through that DNA Tracker just to see their face when you sneak the agenda at the cost of your whole hand. Brain damage just because you can... and also because of the extra clicks from Amped Up, or so they know that Brainstorm is permeable.
It's old-school, and it still works. I think MaxX has corrupted me a bit... I have trouble really vesting myself in any other runner deck for long enough to get a good grip on their play. No matter how interested I might be at first, I eventually come back to my rebellious, feisty handful of a gal. I think those other MaxX players out there will understand.

P.S. The first version I published of this, about a year ago or so, had a story that accompanied it. As per form, here's the URL if anyone is remotely interested.
It's ok... I know... No skin off my nose. ;)

With 1 copy of each conspiracy runners, this deck feels really risky. These days, Ark Lockdown and Project Chronos are rampant. |

Deck looks great, good to see oldschool still getting some love! I've played a ton of MaxX, so I thought I'd just add my two cents on the 1 ofs Conspiracy Breakers. From my experience, if you're forced to actually install those and run remotes, you're not doing your primary job of harassing HQ and Keyholing enough. If the corp does snag those somehow, then props to them, you just have to play a little bit smarter/harder on your Eater strategy. |

Exactly. I've found them extremely useful for when you just have to access, for whatever reason. But on most occasions they're not the linchpin of the deck. |

`@Zybot' anti-Boom tech is called 'Guts and Glory!' Honestly, I've played versions that are always poor and depend on WD, and it just never really worked too well for me. Some players it seems to, but it just never clicked to me. I usually try to keep myself well afloat with credits, which makes traces more difficult... I can often keep pace with the richest Weyland decks, even if only for awhile. Scorch can be turned off with I've Had Worse, if you're cautious. I tend to avoid Tags like the plague. I've played versions that reveled in them, but you've really got to tech the whole deck to work that way, and then things like BOOM will still just end your fun, no matter what you do. This deck isn't really made to float them. In today's meta I don't think tag-floating's working too great... |

Cool build. Still loving that turntable... Man Anarch Consoles are so hard to choose from now! What let you to go with Turntable over Obelus or Vigil? |

I used to have Vigil in a past iteration of this deck. Since I don't really float tags, Obelus would basically perform the same function (draw) but for more money. If a non-DLR MaxX deck is built right, you shouldn't really need more draw than the ID ability and a few clicks here or there give you. So Both Vigil and Obelus aren't such great picks. (Although Vigil is close, since it encourages the Corp to keep a lower handsize, making powerful Wanton runs more likely...) Since I'm running the from-the-bin breakers along with Eater shenanigans, Sifr doesn't really end up helping too much, either. That pretty much leaves Maw, which could work, but is bloody expensive. And in a world of irritating CTM NBN, turntabling those 15 minutes into a 5/3 Puppetmaster sure feels good! |
Really nice deck! How are you finding Rigged Results? Have you tried Run Amok in a similar role?
