PPVP Kate is a no doubt a strong contender for most decks out there, with the engine pretty much built on lots of 3+ costing events along with x3 Prepaid VoicePAD ... which, yes Sure Gamble becomes a pay 2 gain 9 o.O & Lucky Find becomes a straight up gain 9.
Shoutout to Michael for making this a "Beginner" deck (which it isn't) and Peter Shea for trying out and confirming this is by no means a Beginner deck ~~
So here we go, to prove my point that it's advanced AF:
So first of all, it's a one of a kind ICEbreaker deck (well hey why don't we use The Professor: Keeper of Knowledge? Because PPVP Kate that's why.
This means that it heavily relies on Self-modifying Code to draw out relevant breakers (nobody needs a femme fatale when you're against fast advance with ICE like Quandry or Ice wall). And also not to mention Clone Chip is important if your one and only Corroder gets trashed.
Second, you'll have to find the Professional Contacts as soon as possible, and since there are 3 in the deck and you draw 5 plus a mulligan, that's a small chance, not gonna be bothered with math but let's just say without Hostage to help you tutor out the ProCo, your draw DETERMINES YOUR ECON for the rest of the game, quite literally.
Furthermore, from playtesting Atman is another key card that beginner players do not really have a strong grasp on... which can't be blamed because they simply don't know what kind of ICE they're going to encounter with each specific ID:
Weyland: Glacier
- Against ICE STRONG deck: might be tempted to go for 6 because of Archer, Heimdall 1.0 and Hadrian's wall, but then you won't be able to handle Tollbooth or Wall or thorns or Firewall... Atman 5 + 1 sucker counter to deal with the 6str ice is my suggestion.
NBN: Tagstorm / fast advance - Most I've seen run Eli 1.0 and Data raven, so atman 4 is a good bet, you can break Tollbooth with 1 sucker counter.
HB: ETF rush or fast advance - against a ICE WEAK deck: Viper, Eli 1.0, Ichi 1.0 all 4str, atman 4 is the way to go. - drawback is you aren't able to break Architect or Viktor 1.0, use at own discretion
Jinteki: Net dmg - Tends to have low cost ice, Himatsu-baku str 2, Yagura str 0, Enigma str 2, Neural Katana str 3, Komainu str 1. - however you'll be using mimic to cover the sentries, - Atman at 2 is my suggestion if you draw it early game, to hit the enigmas and +1 sucker counter for katana or wall of static.
Thanks for reading and hope we can all agree that this ain't for beginners.
Variation from original: Carddraw: -3 diesel + 3 quality time
Influence + 2 datasucker - 1 Lucky Find + 1 stimhack
