This Deck has Shop in the Title (4-1 at FFGC Store Champs)

Axlotl 2687

12th overall out of 42, as runner had a poor showing (Ken Tenma again, 2-3). Was on the bubble, but only one 6-4 made top cut. Unfortunately, the 6/4 that made it was a guy from my group, so I had to sit around and wait for him instead of feeding my insatiable hunger for the traditional post-tournament Denny's binge. How rude.

The thought here was to pull all of the NEH fast advance shell into Sol, and ditch the asset spam part of NEH for more ice and Targeted Marketing. News Hound is so, so good. So good. 2 credits for 3 cards versus Faust? Dodges Mimic and D4V1D? All of my yes.

Targeted Marketing is a godsend against the Anarch decks, with their series of predictable and required installs. Wyldside, Faust, Chronotype, D4V1D, and later Levy, are all great calls. Against Crim I just name Account Siphon. Shapers can be a hard call, SMC can be a good early name to slow down aggression, or to combined with an agenda push turn 2. Ice+Agenda with code named is pretty decent. Otherwise call Clot. Gives you money to dump a big piece of ice on the server. Targeted Marketing on Clot pays for a 3rd click Tollbooth install 3 ice out on the Grid server.

Round 1: CT with Faust and Vamp. win 7-2. Targeted turn one naming SMC. He plays the SMC and clicks for credits. I play a 2nd Marketing naming Magnum Opus. 20 credits in two turn. Rush out a Global Food immediately after. Slow advance two Astros underneath the clot threat in the walled up scoring server. He can't pull ahead enough to both Vamp and clear the scoring server, so I click 3 after Vamp and finish a 2nd Astro next turn for game.

Round 2: Andromeda Stealth. Win 7-5. Starting hand has ice but no econ. Mulligan. Get Sweeps in mulligan hand. I end up getting RnD locked with an RDI, but I have the agendas in hand to win and decide to race. Scored 2 Astros off the same bare SanSan Grid two turns in a row, so at that point it was too late to clear the Grid, and the RnD lock was his best bet.

Round 3: Kate things. Lose 4-7. Bad hand, bad draws. Way to slow. Targeted Marketing whiffs because it’s a ProCon deck. Faust + Lady + CyCy and Clot threat locks up my scoring server. I manage to sneak a second Beale though, but the loss is inevitable.

Round 4: Whizzard. Win. THIS IS WHAT WE PLAY FOR! All the Faust hate fires. Whizzard is basically a blank ID. Scoring server locked up tight with money for days. I don’t remember what the score was. My notes are thin after getting swept round 3.

Round 5: Geist. Win 7-2. Ice that is good against Faust is often good against BnE breakers. Score two Astros on a walled grid. Debate with myself for three turns on taking the time to score a 2/1, but delay it each turn. He goes HQI + Legwork and steals my 2/1s. I have a sad. Then I draw astro #3, and have a happy. Dig, dig, dig. See NAPD. Can’t FA it. Don’t want to replace the JHow in my scoring server, so I casually dump it into a server for click 3. He isn’t too rich, 4 credits is relevant. He doesn’t check it. I triple advance + 3rd Astro counter it.

Great to finally see the lovely dog put to good use. I have it in my bizarre NBN:MN deck just to tax or trash stuff in early; but the combo with Targeted Marketing is beautiful...

Damn; I was thinking of Data Hound! Nevermind.

The list I ran at the same tournament dropped Biotic for 2 copies of Ash. It also runs 2 NAPD's instead of the Global. My thought was that in the mid/late game you name Clot with Targeted Marketing. When the runner installs clot to stop the FA, it fuels the Ash trace quite well. I went 3/2 with the corp on the day. The first loss was to a surprise nerve agent play out of Hayley when I was flooded without a Jackson. Second loss was in the last round on the cusp of top8. It came down to the last turn and he managed to snag the Beale from my hand to win. The very same Beale I was going to win with. lol
